I was looking for a clerk job as well. They're extremely difficult to get if you dont know anyone or have a highly competitive gpa. Figure out what type of trading you want to do, style, buy some bks/ebks (or pirate them ((I have over 400)), and start trading yourself. Bottom line is: there's more ways to learn and get into the field w/o being a clerk.
i agree with the clerk floor positions as dead. Now those positions are upstairs and called trading assistant or trader depending where you're at. their are many firms looking for people. i disagree with going to the cbot/cboe and handing out resumes. i have never seen a person do that. it looks pathetic.
