Not to rub salt into the wound better prices, heres a link for the card mentioned by waggie945. Xtasy GeForce4 MX 440⢠⢠256-bit Graphics Accelerator ⢠Dual VGA ⢠Dual 350MHz RAMDAC processors ⢠Lifetime Warranty http://www.toolspcs.com/noname2.html
Thanks for the heads up, Ken. I have been running an older slotted p3 550 and have been considering the p4. My intention was to use a gigabyte board since the p3 gigabyte board that I am currently running has served me well. I have one agp g450 setup and just last week bought a pci g450 to use in tandem.(haven't tried it yet) and was considering, upgrading my board and processor to the p4 before installing the second video card. Thanks again for posting this, because chances are high that I would have been going down the same road. plumlazy
hi plum, others.. thanks... if anyone knows of a good m/b for a P4 with the new rambus memory I bought, that Will support PCI multimonitor, pls let me know ... looks like I'm in the market for another m/b .. non INTC 350e chipset based it looks .. I'll check the asus/tyan boards, see if they have anything.. likely it's a good idea, to call them directly, tyan or asus, ask if they have any good p4 based boards that will support pci multimonitor...
I believe Sis is the only other chipset maker to support RDRAM. There is only one model, it's relatively new; I don't know the details.
Plum, 6 months ago I switched from PII, 350 to P4. Other than loading pages quicker, plugins, that sort of thing, I notice almost NO increase in graphics speed or trade execution over net dial-up. My approach to trading is visual and graphic... no heavy number crunching of data. Just thought you'd like to know... upgrade may not improve much, (so you might want to spend your money on BEER!) "Ramble On, sing my song"... if you know what I mean.
