Does this suggest that Bush has ALREADY decided to go to war with Iran??

Top U.S. Mideast commander quits after Iran article

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The top U.S. commander for the Iraq and Afghanistan wars said on Tuesday he would quit after a magazine reported he was pushing President George W. Bush to avoid war with Iran.

Adm. William "Fox" Fallon, head of the U.S. Central Command headquarters responsible for the Middle East, insisted he did not disagree with the Bush administration over Iran, but perceptions of a rift made it difficult for him to do his job.

Defense Secretary Robert Gates commented that "the notion that this decision portends anything in terms of a change in Iran policy is ridiculous. Admiral Fallon reached this difficult decision entirely on his own."

"I believe it was the right thing to do, even though I do not believe there are, in fact, significant differences between his views and administration policy," Gates said at the Pentagon.

The Bush administration says its policy is to use diplomacy to resolve differences with Iran, particularly over Tehran's nuclear program, but it will not rule out military action.

We live in an age of unbridled hubris. A runner-up in the presidential primaries wants to offer the front-runner the vice presidency...and a lame duck president with ten months left in office wants to launch a new war.

Nothing emboldens a fraud more than failure.
  2. When I read articles like this, I tend to believe the intended audience is not the U.S readers. These are written for the foreign press. We latch onto these, they are of no consequence. There is no other way to convey a message or thoughts, encourage debate and test world opinion. What the average Amercian thinks, D.C. does not care.

    One last hoorah.

Surgical strikes preferred if they can't muster support for a full invasion.

Think Bush will let that one slip through his dirty little hands?

What was it that Goldman said?

Something about 200$ oil if there were a major supply "Event"?

Gee wiz. Wonder what that could mean.
