  2. Catholic teaching includes worshiping Mary, the Catholic church calls "the Queen of Heaven". They make carved images of her and have stain glass widows to her.

Here is what is said about worshiping the Queen of Heaven in Jeremiah 7:

9- Instead what have you done?
    you steal,
    you murder,
    you commit adultery,
    you commit perjury,
    you burn incense to Baal,
    you follow other gods.

17&18- In the towns of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem, the children gather wood, the fathers light fires, and the women knead the dough and make cakes to offer to the Queen of Heaven.

30&31 - You, the people of Judah, have done evil in my eyes. You have set up their detestable idols in the house that bears my Name and have defiled it.

Some of the changes emperor Constantine made to the christian church in order to unite the empire idols when the catholic church absorbed roman paganism it simply replaced the pantheon of gods with the saints
just as the roman pantheon of gods had a god of love, a god of peace a god of war a god of strength a god of wisdom etc

So the catholic church has a saint who is in charge over each of these and many other categories just as many roman cities had a pagan god specific to each city the catholic church designated patron saints
    for the cities

One deity in particular mentioned in the old testament of the bible
by the name queen of heaven became known as mary.
It is interesting that the catholic encyclopedia admits that in the first century's a.d there
are no traces of mary worship yet by the 4th century during the time of emperor constantine
worshiping mary as a goddess and offering cakes at her shrine.

What made mary worship official was in 431AD the council of ephesus many temples to isis were in fact converted into temples or shrines dedicated to mary.

  5. At the beginning of the thread there was a video. The video is about what the catholic CHURCH the INSTITUTION teaches.

So dragging the thread in discussion of war and actions of members of a denomination is not about what the INSTITUTION teaches.

Discussion of actions of members of an institution is another topic and a way to divert from the thread. (so = off-topic)

Discussion of actions of members is not the same thing and would be better in a new thread such as:

"Do Catholics, do protestants, etc. ever not follow the TEACHINGS of their Religion?

clearly stated as such one can easily see how futile such a thread is - but feel free.

  6. already posted on page 1 in reply to the same diversionary tactic dragging off-topic:

    Responding to actions another topic:
    • the catholic church tortured and killed during the inquisition,
    • in sold free pass to heaven to noblemen who willed their land to them,
    • it sold bits of wood saying they were from the cross and would get you into heaven
    • the priests have sodomized and raped children (with 3268 priest in Ireland alone)
    • the catholic church reveres wealth serving Mammon and not God (it is the wealthiest organization in the world, holding more gold than anyone else and more land than any other organization) - Directly in opposition to the teaching of the Son of God.
    • it tells its parishioners to call priests "Father" directly against what Jesus the Son of God specifically directed.
      • 8“But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi,’ for you have one Teacher, and you are all brothers. 9And do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father, and he is in heaven. Math 23:8-9
    • They have carved statues in their churches and knell down and direct prayers to them (as in "Dear Mary Mother of God...) .
      • 4"You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below.
      • 5You shall not bow down to them or worship them
      • 23Do not make any gods to be alongside me; Exodus 20:4-5 and 23
    • They kneel down and kiss a cardinal's ring.
By their actions you shall know them as Christ said.

There are important ways to know the moral worth and integrity of any man.

First by what he does. Then by what he says. Then also by the friends he keeps.

The moral worth and integrity of this Pope is very clear.

The concept of "social justice" has been in the Catholic lexicon for decades now. This concept has been embraced by leftist warriors whom are now known as "social justice warriors". It would be great if the concept could actually enlighten us as to what is actually just, or what is justice. The things that leftists stand for suggest it is not about justice, or that they, mankind, and even the popes, don't know what justice actually is.

My point is that so called self identifying "Christians" don't know what is justice either. Proof of this is their assertion that god killed his only good son to buy into a kingdom all the bad sons with his blood sweat and tears. How is this better than Marxist communism which always goes too far to steal from the rich to give to the poor, no matter how much blood sweat and tears went into capital formation?

My point here is that contrary to the intent of the title of this thread, to justify one branch of Christianity by disparaging another, Christianity itself is not Christian. It has not merely strayed from the straight path, it has not merely wandered off it's original mandate, it has betrayed both Jesus and Christ from early on in its inception.

The OPs cop is not good, just because he may be able to point out some of the badness of the bad cop. Both of these cops will convict an innocent man so sinners can run free at large.

It's possible that Marxist communists heavily influenced the formation of what has come to be known as Christianity.

There is, in the book of acts, I believe, the story of the formation of a commune headed by a hierarchy of ministers with Peter at the head.

It's mainly the story of Annanias and Sophira who, like everybody else in the commune, contributed everything they owned to the commune after selling off a lot of what they owned.

Apparently Annanias and Sophira didn't sell off enough of what they owned and/or didn't contribute all of it to the commune. Peter somehow caught on to this and in front of everybody, used the Holy Spirit to drop them dead.

Personally I believe this story of the workings of the Holy Spirit are as reliable as the story of Pentecost which seems to have made Peter the bold leader of the movement. Not reliable at all except to further an agenda, which it does effectively.

Ok this was before Marx, but not before human nature. There has probably always been a political movement with communistic ideals, which puts too much faith in human nature to accomplish it.

The agenda, with such a story, would be to scare participants into entering into a commune, and once in, to stay in, and faithfully.

This requires a police force, anywhere it is not fully welcome. Without police it takes thought police to maintain. Arguably the concept of god , constantly reading our thoughts (for example the thoughts of Annanias and Sophira), has been used as a thought cop.

This is why I define priestcraft as the control of the greatest number of people using the smallest possible police force.

To accomplish this you have to regulate thought space fairly strictly. This would be why Marxist communists are famous for censuring free speech. It explains why catachism is drilled into ones psyche over and over. Not just Catholic catachism, but also the catachism of the OP.

It might not be a coincidence that priests, in the Catholic church, as descendants of Peter, offer "communion" to the communists, uh, I mean the congregants.

But only a communist would accept the bleeding of a good man to pay the way of any number of hangers on whose blood is just not good enough.
