  1. Kind of regretting cutting this (temporary) loser....

  2. Good evening, my fellow Fractal Fans.

No trades over the last 2 weeks, as I wait for The Market to finish either

    1. going down, or

    2. completing a lower high for a third wave short setup

On the chance that case 1 prevails, here is an absolutely perfect third wave long setup on AAPL:

  3. What's up, leveraged price chaserz.

Here is the current state of the fractal ($SPX).

My spidey senses are torn between QE4 (which effectively monetizes all government deficit spending) and that glorious double top that could potentially be taking shape.

AAPL jolted up ~8% since the last update and I sat on handz because The Market was not yet going up when I got the buy signal. It appears to lead the indices by about a day.

    :(

  4. Good morning, my fellow Denizens of Directional Trading.

I'm up all night pondering this provocative situation in RECV, an oil / gas company that experienced a lifetime high in volume the day after the CEO quit. Since then, an absolutely perfect ABC12 has showed up on the hourly chart.

It's trading slightly under book value and the analyst target is over $6. If The Market keeps going up, this one may explode. The big wild card is the price of oil and gas.

  5. RECV is still on the launch pad, waiting for drill results or the price of Crude to go up.

Here is CALI flashing the sign. I haven't started reading up on it yet, but at first glance it appears to be a Chinese luxury car dealership / distributor of some sort, with a current P/E of 1.88 (!).

I doubt you can trust that number and The Market appears to be skeptical, but some volume came in recently and checked the down trend. Now we have that signature, low & flat double bottom with tight BB width that makes my spidey senses tingle.

As always, I'm watching The Market for any signs of weakness, which would prevent me from taking any long stock positions.

  6. Long time no update, still trading five years later. Jobs, property, and stuff got in the way but I'm still looking for tails as a hobby.

Latest equity curve showed the pattern and I'm wondering if it works when trading a trader? If so, I'm taking out a loan....

  7. Caught a serious tail last week. Looks like the pattern worked even on the equity curve!

At this point I'm going to lighten up because that spike puts it at the top of the apparent trend.......

  8. Q2 in the books. It was looking sad for awhile, then another tail just ripped the account upward (still in progress, I hope.....). 60% on the year so far.

  9. Year end results are in, and it was a six month drawdown followed by another extreme tail to end slightly below the S&P 500. What happened? The penny stox I was holding all went limp at the same time and instead of selling I kept providing liquidity and so far it looks like it will pay off, but the strategy needs to be modified for next year.

With some diversification into more fundamentally sound stocks, this method should scale up very well as I build the account and get more experience. So nice to have recovered at the end but it was not the kind of performance I would want to explain to any clients...

No offence Wide tails , but the element of chance seems huge and the returns modest , if it works it's like throwing a slightly weighted dice that you can only throw once so can't be sure if it really is weighted in your favour or not ,to stretch the analogy if you can, you need to throw more often, so you can find out if you have any probability in your favour. ( I'm sure you've thought of this , no one said it was easy , well not me).
