How about getting a low-budget minimum data plan and only use it for these transactions.

Can't be much ... you are a trader and can afford it right?

I use Wise in the US, Europe and Singapore. It allows me to transfer money any which way instantly without a fee. I've never been able to do this before.

Yes, the approval process is tedious and may take more time than you want but, instead of whining because you can't figure out how to use your phone, look at the positive side... Instant transfer, no fee.

Interactive Brokers now support Wise and if you iniate the transfer to IB from IB account management then it is extremely quick. it is a way to get money to IB cheaply for small accounts.

Maybe you don't know what you are talking: you seem to mean sending money to another WISE user from around the globe.
B/c transfers from WISE to outside WISE do cost some money: especially if you have first to convert your main currency, say EUR, to USD. But also the transfer itself is not free of cost; that's at least what I experienced in the last 5+ years at WISE.

And: it's about principles: one should not be forced to use such shitty-small smartphones for such important processes. One should be able to do it also on a normal PC with big screen attached. Yes, my eyes are not the best due to my age; I need a big screen.
What they are doing is age-discrimination, ie. discrimination on visually impaired older adults.

There's a conversion fee of course but it's very competitive. Otherwise, sending money to and from various accounts that are mine is free.

Funny. When I send from my WISE acct some USD to my USD brokerage account in the US then it costs some money, though luckily not that much compared to a wire transfer (and that was the whole motivation why I had opened a WISE acct). I gave an example in prev postings above.
