a FLAT???? Succesful traders and investors should at least live in a mansion, have a boat and a plane. And have a few mansions all over the world.
Since I started this journal, things tend to work in the reverse. Instead of being conservative with my risk, I increased the risk, trying to prove to the traders here that I could make money. Due to this, I opened many positions and end up losing about 40% of my equity.
I sometimes wonder why traders with uncomplicated strategy could be very profitable in the market. Take Jesse Livermore for example, he was making money by just looking at the price quotes. Traders in the past did not have complex systems like Elliot wave, Patterns, algorithms, etc, yet they were very profitable.
carrer, can I show you one of my trades only using $4500 bucks, it's more than your showing and please don't think I am insulting you. I like your style and how would you like to trade US Stocks or Options if someone was to sponsor you?
How can I make this question as uncomplicated as possible? If you had more money or a sponsor, could you learn to control risk or are you willing to be humble enough to have someone pulls your trades if their wrong? Trading question, let's say you purchased these contracts like my wife did, you made five individual trades starting on 12-29-2014 all the way to 12/31/2014. What's your thresh-hold for gains, many traders have a gigantic threshold for holding losing stocks with no skills to hold stocks that keep moving up. How do you handle stock options or physical shares that begin to move in your favor, are you quick to hold on to a position moving up? To consolidate posts I deleted two other posts to make this one post, sorry! (post 3) "The Evolution of a Trader begins with Scalping, you teach yourself to scalp and than you move to holding "time frames" of 1 minutes to 60 minutes. My journey next moved to holding stocks from seconds to the entire day and scaling up if it's winning or dumping it quickly if it showed me a loss. I don't know of any other job that give's you instant feed back like Trading. This job skill tells you almost instantly that "your correct! or your wrong!" and still the majority of traders don't listen to the Markets feedback, their so arrogant they feel their more right than the Market. How do you handle the instant feedback the Market gives you?
Hi JesseJamesFinn, No, you are not insulting me. First of all, I am not a profitable trader. If someone were to sponsor me, I don't see any point/benefit of him/her doing that. However, if I have a profitable system, then I might consider. But frankly, I am not very comfortable managing other people's money.
Talking about my thresh-hold for gains, I would rather follow a system, which has been tested. I will exit when the system says so and will hold as long as there is no sell signal from the system. Because when you follow the system, you can keep your trading results more predictable. Regarding the market feedback, I would rather not involve emotions in making trading decisions. However, I may have emotions from the results, but will never allow the emotions to decide my trades. I will follow the system, when it says exit, I will exit. I would say a person is 'dumb' if he/she follows his/her emotions/arrogance/ego when the market is clearly telling that you are wrong.
1. Feedback is mostly going to be come back when you have more money and experience 2. Posting anonymously in a forum provides 0 pressure. If you do not feel any pressure or desire to be profitable with the tiny account you have over leveraged using fx, then posting here will do nothing more than make focus on on posting more than trading. A journal should be to track your progress and as a learning tool, you seem like you are just trying to hit home runs so you avoid having to get a real job and do adult things. The market is not going anywhere but you should be.
My equity has gone lower now, to around 30 AUD. I am thinking of going demo for now, until I am more consistent.
I just want to point out something to you: is it possible to change the title of your thread and remove the "poor" in it?
