Democrats put a poison pill on their bill guaranteed not to pass. The eligible people are US citizens and residents? You know what that means. It includes illegals (foreigners). That dog won't hunt and the Democrats better pack it in. I would urge all Republicans in Congress in both Houses to oppose it. You want to pass a bill? Clean it up. Any additional stimulus should go to US citizens and permanent resident greencard holders who have paid taxes in the past only. Do that and a version of this bill can pass.
I think he was joking around like how we do during a poker game. He could have said the same to me, soon I will finally get some income too!
Findlands just finished 2 year trial of basic income and found it didn't make people not want to work, it rewarded the lazy bastards that didn't want to work ( they didn't put that but it's true ) I support it for people that want to work but can't, not the lazy people, but it's impossible to tell which is which, so have to decide screw everyone or reward everyone But what is the plan for the global food shortage ?? 2020 will be remembered for them, not the pandemic.
I find it best not to engage with that type of high school level toxicity. It's very easy for these type of people to drag you to their level and then you end up trading insults and it accomplishes nothing. I don't think that guy was here to talk about trading or economics. If he made his "joke" and then said something about the topic at hand, I would've been less likely to block him. It's pointless though to listen to anyone who's only contribution is 100% toxicity.
I wonder what the percentage is of people that are willing to work vs not willing to work? I also worry that UBI might cause overpopulation if you give extra money to people with kids. I think people would make their "jobs" to just have kids so they can get more UBI.
They cut benefits after 2 children in the UK for just that, my Ex had another baby aged 47 her 4th kid so she wouldn't have to go back to work and keep full benefits. So yeah!! ( 1 kid moved out, 1 18 just, 1 13 ) ( despite dad being on good wage, so baby also to keep him, but they make out he doesn't live there to keep full benefits ) I disagree with benefits and I've never in my 49years claimed them. Mainly cause it's so low and it just ends up being a means to an end.
The idea of flying cars, quite frankly, scares me. A better idea is for the government use "imminent domain" and expand the freeways.
So it looks like under the new bill, they're going to keep it at $1200 checks, but this time, your kids also get $1200 checks and the dependents age 17-24 that got screwed last time will not only get a $1200 check, but they'll get another $1200 because of they got screwed last time.
