Caravan living

  1. am interested in living in a caravan for a few months whilst travelling across europe.
First time and never been on a caravan before.
How does it work in terms of electricity, water, bathroom and toilet?
How do the toilet and bathroom work? I assume there are clean water and dirty water tanks, which need to be refilled and emptied once a few days? How about electricity?

Where can you do the water maintenance and electricity charging?

Trouble with caravans, they are bulky heavy things, sucks your petrol/diesel from tow vehicle like no bodies business, so not cheap for towing around, gotta find a large space to park it, then you have maintenance, registration, list goes on.
They are tall so mostly wont fit in carparks due to height restrictions.
Many caravans and vehicles have weight restrictions therefore need a large juice sucking vehicle for towing plus caravan wont take alot of additional weight beyond what's already in it, the furniture.
    Cheaper, more convenient to backpack.
Do the sums, it's not cheap unless you are rich or do it long term.

I agree with elderado, you may want to consider hostelling as well.
