Cantor skips Obama’s press conference to attend a Britney Spears concert.

  1. I have no obsession with Cantor whatsoever. But he has been in front of the camera an awful lot on CNN, MSNBC, Fox, etc. in the past two weeks - - - Kind of strange for a politician who as you say, "has limited ability to lead."

  2. I haven't been watching that stuff much lately. They guy who I do see trying to make hmself the face of the party is Michael Steele, with somewhat mixed success.

  3. I agree this is the incredibly important question not being asked. It is one thing to have a a bunch of phony "town halls" and to show up on The Late Show when campaigning; but consistently setting himself up for softball questions at conferences attended only by adoring cultist of personality... slimy.

Who could blame him. If you go to an Obama press conference all you are likely to hear is "It wasnt me"..."I inherited...."...we know all ready..it wasnt you and you wont fix it.

  5. And George Bush never scripted his press conferences with pre-selected journalists and questions???

It never ceases to amaze me just how completely IGNORANT a lot of ET posters are. With each additional post, their IGNORANCE shines through time and time again . . .

  6. There is a huge difference here that you don't seem to appreciate. Bush may have had reporters he was planning on recognizing. What president didn't? Obama has taken it way beyond that. The favored journos are notified ahead of time and given prime seats not always in keeping with their importance. I think there is ample reason to believe the questions ahve been cleared with the Gibs beforehand.

Your second cite refers to an elderly woman who should not even have press credentials, the crank Helen Thomas. Perhaps at one time she was a respectable reporter. That time was decades ago. She abused the slack Bush had granted her due to her age by making a fool of herself with idiotic rants. He spared her more humiliation by simply ignoring her, as was his privilege.

  8. I don't have time to wade through huffington vids. Bill Bennet is entitled to his opinion. As I recall you ridicule him as a person with a gambling addiction whenever it suits you, so I'm confused how he suddenly became authoritative.

  9. His gambling addiction, like Rush's food and drug addiction, make him a perfect spokesman for Republican values...

    :D :D :D :D :D :D

Sure you don't have time to look at Huff Po's videos...

You are too busy looking at Coulter porn...

  10. Clearly you never watched a Bush press conference. He was aggressively interrogated at every turn. And he deserved it. That is the function of the press.

Quite a difference from an Obama "press conference", where he sets up questions from adorers who begin every inquiry with "thank god for you Barak Obama."
