Can't fill large option orders for 5-10 minutes (IB paper-trading account)

    I guess it's not if you're doing way OTM options, buying or selling, but that's a fool's errand for sure if you don't know what you're doing.

    30-40k options is 3-4MM shares. It's a big deal. In most names you can't get capital commitment from a bank for that size.

    Sorry, there is obviously a misunderstanding - I meant 30-40K USD in options (around 1K options) 30-40K of options is insane for a retail of course. My mistake, sorry.

    30-40k is approx. a 100 lot on a 20 dollar stock. That's not very big for a market maker to absorb.

    But is it still possible to buy 1000 options for GPS for instance as a single lot or it is already a substantial position so that it will be sold in several lots?
