Where is respecting the US flag defined? Where is it listed as being required?

Do I have to follow your definition of "respect?"
Do I have to apply your definition of "disrespect?"

Why does whether another man kneels or stands get your panties bunched up, ... you a snowflake?

    WTF difference does it make?

This is not China, Russia, or North Korea.

If a man wants to stand, so be it. If not, so be it. That's what a free country is suppose to be about.

    Bunch of drama queens.

Look at them respecting the flag:

There is no such that as respecting a piece of fabric.

Respect the laws of your country.
    Respect the democratic process.
    Respect the rights of others.

These are things that can be respected.

It is in the US Code of Justice. It is not a criminal offense, but a statutory one.

    Here's a bit of it...

"No disrespect should be shown to the flag of the United States of America; the flag should not be dipped to any person or thing. Regimental colors, State flags, and organization or institutional flags are to be dipped as a mark of honor.

    (a) The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property..."

Thanks. I'm aware. It's also a violation to sew the flag into pants, for example.

My real point was that there is no requirement for a civilian to stand before the flag. There is nothing officially labeling kneeling before the flag as being "disrespectful."

Why don't you go read about what Ruth Bader Ginsburg had to say about the kneelers. She absolutely despised them considering them uninformed and disgraceful. And she is a liberal paragon.

‘SNL’ alum Jon Lovitz compares cancel culture to McCarthyism
    https://pagesix.com/2021/06/11/snl-alum-jon-lovitz-compares-cancel-culture-to-mccarthyism/

“Cancel culture” is definitely not the ticket.

Comedian Jon Lovitz is blasting modern online witch hunts, comparing them to the Red Scare that led to the famed Hollywood blacklist in the late 1940s.

“I’ll just say it, it’s no different than McCarthyism,” the 63-year-old told Page Six on Monday.

The “SNL” alum, best known for his “Yeah, that’s the ticket!” catchphrase, said it’s his “job to satirize what’s going on in society and point out the hypocrisies” and that “cancel culture” gets in the way of that.

“As soon as you say to a comedian like me, ‘You can’t say that,’ the first thing in my head is, ‘Oh, and now I have to,'” he continued, adding that there is “a difference between making jokes and being outright mean.”

“If you don’t have the ability to laugh at yourself, don’t go to a comedy club. I’m not changing my act. If you’re watching TV and you don’t like the show, change the channel. It’s very simple.”

why would I read an opinion of disagreement that was later 180'd? Was she asking people to be fired/cancelled for kneeling?

Wish RBG was still around so you or some reporter could ask her that directly.
