It's shocking how many people do not know that Canada has a much higher immigration rate per capita. For the past 2 years including this year before Trump slowed downed immigration to the United States... Canada immigration rate was 4x as many legal immigrants per capita as the United States. Today, with Trump in charge...legal immigration to the United States has slowed considerably...much more than the United States expected. The aging population with lower immigration could be a major problem budget wise. I suppose if Trump can tax Americans hard enough with tariffs that might help but it remains to be seen if that can be done without killing a huge chunk of the economy and/or higher inflation and unemployment. Reminds me of Canada in the 1980s and the Debt to GDP numbers are almost exact matches ( Canada back then to US now ). That was solved with higher income taxes which have tapered back since year 2000 when our govt budget hit a surplus and manageable deficits since.
