No, that would be in city/state ummm I mean in a police state. Don't spit on the sidewalk, 6 months for that.
Although I didn't vote for him...there was no damage. Yet, there was "no tariff battle" between him and Trump because he resigned (today) before Trump took office. In contrast, I believe his liberal party and the conservatives accused Trudeau of being too soft (not strong enough) in dealing with Trump plus not strong enough going into an election with the guy I like named Pierre Marcel Poilievre of the conservative party...he's the person I plan to vote for. He's also the person best suited for dealing with Trump and is strong enough as he's quoted in saying..."fight fire with fire". It makes sense because the liberals want to hold on to their minority but the polling shows Trudeau is behind. Lots of resignation within the party and there's a few other liberals that think they will perform better against Pierre Marcel Poilievre in the election. On top of that, Trudeau is a family guy and he saw too much damage with his family structure (e.g. divorce) and his children are old enough to feel the dark side of politics...same dark side of politics that Ivanka Trump talked about that she and her family will not be involved with again when her father takes office on January 20th, 2024. With that said, the conservatives in Canada are very different than the conservatives in the United States. Canada Conservatives Prefer the Westminster system of government and pro-market liberalism ideals. Religion is less important because there's a smaller population of conservative Christians. Socially more democrat with their social policies (e.g. healthcare, immigration, equality). Universal Healthcare is very important to Conservatives in Canada than the United States...reason why the south in the United States have poor healthcare performances than the rest of the United States and Canada. Stronger dislike of Populists. Conservatives more outspoken against Israel bombing of Palestine while walking that fine line that Israel has a right to defend itself when it is attacked. Canada has more than double the number of Muslims in the United States and more than triple the number of Muslims in the conservative party of the United States. More Indigenous Canadians in the conservative party that Indigenous Americans in the conservative party...plus Indigenous Canadians have more benefits in Canada than Indigenous Americans in the United States. Woke is less of an issue in Canada. There's a saying in Quebec that Canada is only woke when compared to the United States. Thus, without the United States...people in Canada are less worried about woke. ***Stronger dislike of Trump and his tariffs threats. Some in Canada say it's why Trudeau's poll numbers are dropping fast while the poll numbers of Pierre Marcel Poilievre are rising. Poilievre has stronger views on how to deal with Trump than Trudeau. They lie less in politics than conservatives in the United States under Trump. Less tolerant of felons within their party as are all the other political parties in Canada. Don't want to take away LGBTQIA+ rights and has a strong belief in climate change but Conservatives in Canada do want to AX the Carbon Tax... https://policyoptions.irpp.org/magazines/may-2024/conservative-carbon-tax/ Stronger support of foreign aid and gun control (a big reason for Canada having less violent crime per capital than the United States). Stronger belief in social medicine and programs for mental health. Yet, they do want to "reduce" social programs without touching healthcare while encouraging more private companies as "competition" to encourage better healthcare performance. Stronger support for senior citizens and financial support for everyday citizens during global crisis (e.g. Pandemic). Here in Quebec, Canada...the Conservative party has a greater difference than the Conservatives in the United States that's more Catholic with stronger support of Indigenous Canadians and Immigrants. Also, Conservatives in Quebec have a stronger support of Anglophones than the Liberals and stronger support of languages of immigrants than Conservatives in the United States. Reminder, Conservative party in Canada has been the most popular popular but not the controlling party...Liberals have held the controlling party but only as a minority. Many Canadians view Trudeau on the level as Trump...a different type of Dictator but better because Trudeau doesn't have felony convictions 34x. In general, Conservatives in Canada enjoy more equilibrium in Canada than the two-party system in the United States even when Conservatives have accomplished a trifecta in American politics. wrbtrader
Liberals ruined Canada so they're taking a break for a few years before the damage is irreparable. Same thing in the US, in four years bad policies will begin again unless steps are taken. Remember the Liberals were happy to take everything away from you, under the guise of managing a Bio- Weapon Accident.
Take everything away? Lol ..they handled it well. Look at the stats. And take what away? You couldn't travel, or go to bars or restaurants? It was like that in every single country regardless of the politics. Actually, restrictions were even more strict in other countries. We were told the restrictions would be rolled back as new cases declined, and they were...and now they are gone. So I don't understand what exactly you are referring to?
Conservatives in the United States at this forum freak out whenever they see those Covid performance stats by Canada. They do not understand that it's the same vaccines in Canada and the United States but Canada outperformed the United States in the fight against Covid because Canada's government didn't put politics above the health of it's citizens. Just as important, Canadians followed the health guidelines much better than the United States along with the fact that Canada is less anti-vaccine than the United States against Covid-19. Also, Canadians have access to health care over the full life span (universal health insurance) and lower levels of social and economic inequality, especially among the elderly...the United States does not except for veterans in it's VA Healthcare System that greatly outperforms the regular hospital system in the U.S. wrbtrader
Good luck those who depend on the head of state to solve one's problem. Vote for this or that candidate will solve the problem is just a pipe dream. The is no way to weed out bad leaders, but voters can vote them out. That's the advantage of a democratic system. Let's see how Musk will make the US society more efficient and solve "most" societal ills.
