Yep... the headlines today are all -- "Whatever you do, Don't go to Canada".

The CDC Is Warning You to Avoid This One Place, Even If You're Vaccinated
The agency is warning all Americans not to head north of the border right now.

"The CDC is now recommending that Americans avoid going to Canada, even if they've been fully vaccinated."

  2. Uh. oh. Troubling headlines here.

I don't know whether there is merit to the headlines, and I don't make the news, I just report it. But I do know that there are a couple fake Canadians on the forum who really do not care about the covid problem in their country as long as their per capita rate is less than the US. As usual that is the only type of metric that matters to them.

We may have to put a couple fake Canadian forum members on suicide watch if the data continues to deteriorate. Let's show some compassion for them.

Canada on track to surpass U.S. in number of COVID cases relative to population
The U.S. has fully vaccinated 19% of its population, compared to 1.9% of the population in Canada

I got Pfizer on Tuesday. Canada really ramping up vaccines now. Second dose is delayed longer then I'd like but first dose is more then 50% effective and evidence so far suggests people who get Covid after the vaccine don't get hit as bad ( haven't really researched it ). As of two weeks ago I thought I'd have to wait until September and try the J&J. AstroZenica I wanted to avoid until more is known but that one was available for my age group as well; when I saw an opportunity to get Pfizer/Moderna much earlier then expected I booked it immediately.

Canada's had a serious travel advisory concerning the US throughout. This is hardly news. In fact, numerous states in the US are still posting worse Covid numbers then Canada. Our baseball team can't play here because we didn't want Americans crossing the border.

But don't you worry you have mental giants like TreeFrogTrader in your country to lead the way :). You must be so proud to see such results from your education system.

Those in the age group of 20 - 29 years old...highly recommend that they not take the Astra-Zeneca Covid Vaccine. Instead, take another vaccine.

The risks greatly outweigh the benefits.

  10. Canadian pharmaceutical companies trying to help out- including export- but the Canadian government cannot- as usual- get its fingers out of its arse. They would rather rob vaccines that were intended for third world countries. In addition to helping Canadians, they should join the civilized world and be creating capacity to export. Trudeau has bragged many times over about how Canada had provided all sorts of vaccines for lesser developed countries but it was just a cash contribution to WHO.

    Oh, the shame.

    Canadian pharma company:

“Maybe they have a great strategy that we’re not aware of.”

Biolyse suggests Health Canada lacks urgency over its ask to produce COVID-19 vaccines for export
