Trump's going to be whining a lot when we fire back some more tariffs. Bring it on Donnie let's see how far we can tank your Presidency.
Airline Demand Between Canada & United States Collapses, Down 70% https://onemileatatime.com/news/airline-demand-canada-united-states-collapses/
On United States/Canada routes...airlines are cutting seat, reducing capacity and minor layoffs (airport workers, security staff, and baggage handlers). Those no longer traveling to the United States commonly stated it's because of steep tariffs on European goods to diminished support for NATO. Also, many airlines on the United States/Europe routes are starting to see problems too because many vacationers are avoiding the United States due to immigration policies. Just as bad, more Americans are now scheduling their leisure travel (advance bookings) outside of the United States for increasing travel for both transatlantic and transpacific destinations. My mother lives in Chicago. She usually visits my brother and his family in South Dakota this time of year. Instead, she and my brother's family will vacation in France in July...I'm going to spend three weeks with them instead of vacationing in the United States. wrbtrader
Long term Canadian residents are highly patriotic and can't stand Trump. We have the strength to outlast anything the Americans want to throw at us. Bottom line a number of Americans like to talk tough as long as they don't have to personally do anything themselves or make sacrifices. The real resolve isn't there to battle Canadians on any level. Trump is operating on personal grudges and no doubt some psychosis. A trade war with Canada will drag hundreds of thousands of Americans unwittingly into a personal crisis engineered by Trump.
Alberta seems not patriotic at all by their current rhetoric Canada is not united and you better bend you knee
My message post is about the Airline Industry in reply to gwbtrading message post about the dramatic decline in airline travel for Canadian travelers to the United States. Further, I discussed there are declines in the Airline Industry from European travel to the United States along with increasing demand of Americans leisure travel from the United States to both transatlantic and transpacific destinations. Therefore, to add to your reply to me...you're correct that Americans are more divided in the United States than Canadians in Canada...division in America that is growing. As a citizen and traveler of Canada, France, and the United States...there's much more division in the United States because of Trump's policies on tariffs, immigration, and foreign policies. That division has grown to a level that I see it among my friends in the United States who some of them have moved to Canada instead of vice versa...the same with friends moving to Europe instead of vice versa. Simply, more unity in Canada and Europe than the United States involving Airline leisure travel and migration patterns. Therefore, the American people do not have the resolve to stand behind Trump as he intensifies his tariff war on Europe and Canada. There has already been a seismic shift in more European money (billions of dollars) investment in European defense so that they're less dependent on the United States, more protests against American made products (e.g. Tesla) and less sales because Europeans are not willing to buy those products even if it causes consumer hardship. In contrast, more complaints by Americans about the dropping sales of their products in Europe and Canada...clearly pointing to the fact there's less resolve of Americans to support Trump's tariff war because they do not hear nor seeing any support by the Trump administration for their businesses as more Americans are being fired in the Federal agencies and the businesses partner with those Federal agencies. Regardless, the Airline leisure travel industry and migration patterns begin to show up in January 2025 among my U.S. military friends who are now retiring from the military...five of them have moved from the United States to Canada. 2 of the 5 have moved to here in Quebec, Canada...they're now enrolled in an intense French learning class. I find that type of migration from the United States more astonishing than the Airline leisure travel news as they seem more disgusted with Trump's policies and his rhetoric. By the way, I've been seen more online news about the growing demand of Americans becoming expats (moving to other countries) than any other time in my lifetime. The other day in a restaurant with two of my teenagers here in Quebec, I was talking on the cell phone to my oldest (a military cadet at the academy in the United States)... A couple at a nearby table overheard our discussion in French and English, after I said goodbye that couple asked what was the best real estate newspaper or magazine about homes for sale here in Quebec, Canada. I asked where they were from and they said South Korea. All smiles from me and I invited them to connect our tables together for a dinner because I served in South Korea and lived there for awhile after the military...they were more interested in learning about the real estate market Quebec than South Korean restaurants (e.g. Seoul Taco Korean/Mexican infusion restaurant) in the Chicago area...a few blocks from the University of Chicago... My daughter kicked my leg under the table to get my attention that the couple is not interested in Chicago or the United States...they're focusing on Quebec, Canada. Regardless, more pro-Canada and anti-Trump discussions here in Canada among professionals towards Americans than vice versa...some talking with their money as they migrate from the United States as I noted above. ------- You can move almost anywhere in the world as a US national. In most cases, with good opportunities for Americans. The most desirable countries for United States expats are the following... Portugal, Mexico, Spain, Costa Rica, Italy, New Zealand, Canada, Germany, Netherlands, Singapore, Panama, Uruguay, Thailand, France, Malaysia, Greece, Vietnam, Ecuador, Croatia, and Belize. https://www.travelandleisure.com/travel-tips/best-countries-for-american-expats Europe continues to dominate the list rankings for American expats to move to... https://www.forbes.com/sites/laurab...r-americans-to-live-in-according-to-new-data/ Canada, UK, Ireland, and Australia tend to dominate on Immigration lists/Immigration lawyers lists in countries abroad who track the migration patterns of American expats. https://iasservices.org.uk/the-9-best-countries-for-americans-to-move-to/ The one country I keep seeing on various different ranking list for Americans moving abroad is Mexico. Maybe I'm shocked because out of all of my military buddies and civilian friends...only one of them have moved to Mexico...she and her family are Italian-Americans. My favorite recent migration ranking list of American expats - Here are the top 10 countries Americans want to move to, according to the Harris survey: Canada United Kingdom Australia France Italy Japan Mexico Spain Germany New Zealand The poll, which was conducted between February 13 and 16, surveyed 2,131 U.S. adults. Broken down by generational cohort, the respondents included 304 Zoomers, 576 Millennials, 665 Gen Xers and 586 Boomers. https://www.newsweek.com/top-10-countries-where-americans-want-become-expats-2036893 By the way, popular destinations for Canadian expats are shown below. The difference not shown is that most of my Canadian friends who live abroad having not been choosing the United States in comparison to choosing the United States before Trump's first term...they were mostly snowbirds moving to warmer states in the South. Today, as you can see...the United States is no longer on the top list of destinations by Canadian expats although not a shocker considering the rhetoric from the Trump administration. Further, for the first time in many years...there are travel advisories from other countries about traveling or moving to the United States. None against Canada. https://www.axios.com/2025/03/25/canada-us-travel-advisory-updated-registration-guidance https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2025/03/25/us-travel-warnings-trump-europe-canada/ A sad recent experience of my son who's a military cadet in the United States...he's never had any problems traveling between Canada and the United States until recently when I met him in Chicago for a one day visit with grandma... He was held up in Customs for 4 hours until my spouse and I made a phone call to someone we know (family member on my side of the family) who works in the U.S. customs (Chicago). Apparently a customs agent had an issue with my son traveling with three passports (Canada, France, and the United States) involving the agent focusing on my son's Canadian passport enclosed in a RFID pouch (not illegal) on his way back to the military academy when it has never been a problem in the past. Everyone in my family uses RFID travel pouches and RFID credit card holders...something I learned while traveling in the U.S. military. So far, I myself have had no problems traveling between the Canada and the United States. If I did, my first contact will be the USO at the Airport. I've instructed my son to do the same in the future while Trump is in the White House. wrbtrader
The longer the Canadians wait, the bigger the damage to their economy and layoffs. Better to come to their senses and strike a deal with President Donald Trump.
Does anybody else want to put an ice axe into his skull? I'm sure it would miss anything vital. Back on ignore. One day they might sort the glitch where you still see threads started by people on ignore in one of the post indexes.
Why do you keep posting utter bs ? There are reasons why you were disliked and unsuccessful in Canada. We're going to destroy Trump on this. You seem to think your experiences in Canada were mainstream they weren't you never made an attempt to assimilate into our country.
Better that Americans come to their senses before they are in a Recession with a huge move up in unemployment. Seriously fuck Trump you can't negotiate with a lunatic.
