Some of the posters on here aren't understanding that we really don't give a fk about Trump. That's the real consensus in my country. You and Trump can flail away all you want, cutting off your fingers in the process, go for it do your worst. Many Americans that truly want the best for their country are certainly concerned about Trump, if they are rational.

Eventually, Trump will keel over and die. Maybe sooner than later. Then what ? Who amongst his band of 'best people' he's appointed takes over the cult ? Is Eric Trump your new savior :) ? Whatever TV celebrities or criminals can you appoint next ? Hard to take your situation seriously at this point.

GDP is a poor comparison especially when adjusting for the size of the population.

Seriously, even after adjusting for the size of the population...the U.S. still has 7x more gun violence than Canada.

There are other threads with people listing the things the U.S. does better than Canada and the things that Canada does better than the U.S.

Canada has better air quality, its citizens tend to live longer lives, wild game hunting is better, and if your family loves the cold weather and skiing like my family...you'll love Canada.

I have friends on both sides of the northern border. Most of my U.S. friends shop in Canada in comparison to my Canadian friends shopping in the U.S. Yet, to be fair, the USD has more spending power in Canada than vice versa...currently sitting around +1.41

My favorite thread about U.S. and Canada comparisons involved comparing Covid infections, hospitalizations, and Covid deaths. Canada greatly did better than the United States in the treatment of those infected with Covid.

We decided on the safety of our children, the proper healthcare system to raise a family, more wilderness for hunting, better air quality, live longer healthier lives, colder weather (my family loves to ski), more acceptance of immigrants, and more French speakers.

Arguing about which country is better is ridiculous considering each person or their family has different needs in comparison to someone else.

I live in three different countries (Canada, France, and the United States) depending on the time of the year. Yet, if we have another Pandemic (high probability we will within the next 10 years)...my family plans to be in Canada along with our relatives invited from the U.S. if they're able to leave the U.S. before the borders close.

For what it is worth, I have Canadian friends who are snowbirds and live in Florida during the winter but they're not a cold-weather person like me. In contrast, I have three military buddies from the United States (two former Army Rangers and one former Green Beret) living nearby to my home in Canada...they can not get enough of the outdoors, hunting, skiing, and air quality that is great up here.

The U.S. is great but I grew up in the U.S. (different states), I have relatives in the U.S., Canada and France...

My spouse and I decided the health and safety of our children are the deciding factors about which country is better to raise a family...not negotiable.

Yet, if I didn't have kids (they're older now) and was single...I would live in Denmark, Sweden, Finland, or Norway.

Canada totally screwed by astronomical immigration.

If you're white and even love cold there is no future in Canada. Or you future sort of is if you immigrated to India

If you're not white you will still be miserable as it's too cold anyway. Maybe your grandkids will acclimate

They said that back in the early 1600s when the French first arrived in Canada.

Many years later in the 1700s, the British said something similar to the French Canadians that decided to help the Colonists.

Those French Canadians would then persuade the French Army to join the fight against Britain in the Revolutionary War by giving supplies, arms and ammunition, uniforms, and, most importantly, troops and naval support to the beleaguered Continental Army.

The French navy transported reinforcements, fought off a British fleet, and protected Washington's forces in Virginia. They learned about the advantages of light infantry in winter.

George Washington with his French Canadian and French allies...crossed the Delaware in the middle of the cold December 25th night in 1776...they knew the British could not pursue them across the Delaware in the winter.

The success after that paved the way for the Colonies to defeat the British years later.

Many people do not know their history. George Washington and the Continental Army with their French allies crossing the Delaware was an amazing feat in the winter. They did it with a lot of military equipment in the boats with them and a lot of them were sick with smallpox...

    He was an amazing General.

If you're curious about what it's like to cross a big river in the winter when it's freezing outside...Quebec has a winter race crossing the Saint Lawrence River in a canoe. I've competed in it a few times a long time ago...it's dangerous, cold, and fun.

Therefore, if someone ever ask you what has Canada (the French) done for you if you're a citizen of the United States...

Reply that they helped you to fight for your freedom from the rule of Great Britain. Also, it has now become very nice paid holiday on July 4th Independence Day.
