    Hello everyone,

Sorry have yet to introduced myself. I've just started trading last May with a really small amount just to get my feet wet.

My question is about using hotkeys in Interactive Brokers for 'scalping' or I guess just to get in and out of positions very quickly.

Does anyone have experience using hotkeys and does not* have market data? Because I always get a confirmation page before I place an order and I think it's because I don't have market data.

I mainly use WeBull but I notice the executions are soooo much faster on IB.

    Thanks for the help!

I haven’t used hot keys but I have traded at IB without market data.
Not sure if that’s the reason for your confirmation dialogs, but a lot of things can be configured in IB/TWS Global Configuration settings. I mostly get confirmation dialogs shown when I configure “Presets -> Stocks -> Precautionary Settings”

I'm sure you can...you'll just have to disable the pop up dialogue box that cautions you about trading without market data.

I had exact same problem. There was no way to disable this pop up, at least that's what I was told.

The charts have "hot buttons" for buy and sell.
You can then preconfigure trade size and stops etc.

This is the message I get from IB

    Dear ____,

Unfortunately, IBKR currently does not offer a feature to hide order confirmation window, in case if you do not have the real time data for the product.

Please note, IBKR Lite offers free real time streaming data only for U.S. listed NMS stocks and ETFs. You will be able to place an order instantaneously using hotkeys for U.S. listed NMS stocks and ETFs without any additional subscription. However, to place orders instantaneously for other products, it will be necessary to subscribe for paid market data subscriptions. Please note, market data fees is not waived for these paid subscriptions.

In order to determine what market data subscription is required for different product you can use our Market Data Assistant tool on Client Portal. You can follow the steps below :

    1. Within Client Portal > go to Support > select Market Data Assistant.

    2. Enter the symbol and other details of the financial instrument for which you want real time data.

    3. You will be suggested which market data subscriptions will show you the market data for the given symbol along with the cost of the subscriptions.

You can then follow the steps below to make the market data configurations on your account :

    1. Within Account Management > Click on Menu > Select Settings > Choose User Settings.

    2. Within User Settings > Click on configure gear icon next to Market data Subscription under Trading Platform Settings section.

    3. Now click on configure gear icon next to Current Subscription > Put a tick mark on required subscriptions > Click on Continue.

Kindly Note - Partial month subscriptions will be charged at the full month's rate.
