everyone looks for trends. to make money in trading you must find and determine direction. it is easy to find trends on a 5 minute chart you can find plenty and that is the problem. which bloody trend should I trade managing all these trends is the problem
it is helping me clarify my own ideas about TA . if not why will I waste so much time and effort posting here
what is the meaning of this comment trading is profiting from trends. you may think you are trading in a range but how the hell are you going to make money if there is no directional movement? no trend by definition a 3 tick move in one direction is a trend
Why couldn't you accomplish the same thing in private, reminders in notes / app or a private blog...you afraid you will go back and remove the bad ideas that would have been unsuccessful (not profitable) ? I keep a private journal since the summer of 2018 about "market context"...reasons about why price does what it does and about personal things in my life that impacts my trading results. There's no charts in my market context journal although I use technical analysis. Its been an eye-opener for me...extremely helpful. wrbtrader
a journal is about your method answering questions is far more extensive and I find it is even wider in the scope than limiting it to my specific method. this is about other areas of TA
Funny story: I'm in India right now. Not for business, just for fun. 4 days in Delhi (includes day trip to Agra), 3 in Kolkata, 3 in Mumbai. https://www.dropbox.com/s/7b5dmptuud3hvmg/Polish_20200208_151737723.jpg?dl=0
3 tick move? Can you explain? Really! Does anyone agree with this... Like saying the bid size went from 16 to 32 is a trend in the buy side...
Even if not busy with my other business (which will always take priority over this), I'll be busy with something... But even if I had all the free time in the world, I wouldn't want to spend it staring at charts. I am okay with placing trades ahead of an event perhaps? But I can't see myself watching charts for more than 5 minutes at a time. Nor would I want to?
