My advisor is now sort of not talking to me, he gets a bit snooty when I take over the account-- this I do a few times a year as I get itchy , twitchy and annoyed which I am now. What am I still looking at-- WELL Churchill Freakin' Downs... wasn't even on my radar until Van and his gambling got me thinking-- This stock basically sprinted $13 in front of me as I waited for a retrace. This and the unfortunate bite to my lower area has got me highly agitated. WATCH LIST: CHDN // BZUN // DXCM //LYB // IRM // SMAR // CHWY Notes On Each. BZUN is the China play. Earnings have been reduced 4 cents I believe which in China might equal a whole lot more depending on what their currency does... I just cannot bring myself to do it. If I was going to make one bet on this tariff stuff-- this would be the play i like the way they work with all the big companies even though apparently they are all leaving China now. DXCM blood glucose stock I have a very very long history with-- I have twice left huge gains on the table only to see them wiped out so I'm negative on the experience of owning this stock even as my private analysis indicates it could go much higher. It's always what if Apple starts doing this... that has worried me but DXCM has received good news lately at the stock is roaring again. You really can't watch this stock it makes you sick. LYB & IRM are yield ideas. SMAR is one of those Cloud ideas they just had decent earnings with a bright outlook dropped a secondary and went up-- usually a good sign. CHWY's IPO for Friday the price range has been raised and it's going to be hugely over suscribed so perhaps some good shine coming back to the IPO market after the Uber let down. ~si
News Roundup) Square Cash App download growth outpaces Venmo's - Nomura Jun. 13, 2019 "Upbeat May download data bodes well for SQ," as Venmo's Y/Y growth "dramatically" slowed, writes Nomura Instinet analyst Dan Dolev in a note. Square (NYSE:SQ) Cash App downloads increased by 2.2M in May, up from 2M in April, exceeding the monthly averages of 2.1M in 2019 and 1.9M last year. Meanwhile PayPal's (NASDAQ:PYPL) Venmo download count was 1.7M in May, similar to April and matching its 2019 monthly average; Y/Y growth of 35% retreated from 54% in April and 47% in March. Rosenblatt praises Spotify price power, looks to margin clarity Jun. 12, 2019 Rosenblatt Securities reiterated its Buy rating on Spotify (SPOT+2.4%), pointing to growing pricing leverage in American and looking to more clarity on gross margins at earnings time. The music streamer will probably resume subscriptions to a bundle of Hulu and Spotify Premium before year-end, which will offer expansion of a higher-priced tier of users, Rosenblatt says. The firm has a $175 price target, now implying 23% upside.
For more:Delta Air Lines looks to facial recognition technology to improve travel The airline, which handles 15,000 flights daily, is using a steady diet of biometrics for boarding and RFID — radio-frequency identification using electromagnetic fields to identify and track tags attached to objects — to track baggage for the estimated 180 million people it flies annually. Advances in aviation technology are allowing Delta to fly more people “faster, farther and safer” without disrupting schedules, Delta Air Lines CEO Ed Bastiansaid at the Code 2019 conferenceon Tuesday. Improvements in data crunching resulted in just 60 canceled flights because of maintenance problems in 2018, compared with 6,000 a decade ago, he said. As RFID and facial recognition improve, Bastian said, the days of passengers stampeding onboard flights will be a thing of the past. There will be no loading zones or queues, he said. I like Delta this is a bit creepy. The Chart looks fab to me I bought it ion my wife's acct. We don't really have a transport so adding Delta makes a lot of sense. Going to work out and see how I feel after. Adding DAL to watch list.
I think Delta is my No 1 idea right now and probably the last insertion into the ET portfolio. We have one week left and then your portfolio manager departs for the Ct woods. Final Watch List: DAL // CHDN // CRSP // LYB // IRM // SMAR // STING
The legalization of sport betting helped propel U.S. casinos to a record year, with gaming revenue rising 3.5% from 2017 to $41.68 billion, according to the American Gaming Association. 3% rise? Meh..... It was the fourth consecutive annual increase, the trade group said in its State of the States report. In May 2018, the Supreme Court overturned the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act, clearing the way for sports betting outside Nevada. Seven states adopted sports wagering legislation by year’s end: New Jersey, Delaware, Mississippi, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and West Virginia. 7 States? Meh.... The expansion helped the sports gaming market grow revenue nearly 65% year over year to $430.2 million. And in 2019, the AGA said data through April showed a 175% increase in revenue from sports betting over 2018, in the months before it was legalized. Woa! 65% growth now we're talking! The liberalization of casino gambling benefits some companies more than others. “MGM and Caesars are well-positioned given their regional and Vegas presence that they can leverage with industry-leading loyalty programs, ” Dan Wasiolek, an analyst at Morningstar, said. But the expansion of legal gambling may prove challenging as it provides more competition for existing casinos. For instance, Illinois is the only state where gaming revenue declined in 2018, down 2.5%. The governor’s signature will pave the way for the state to offer six new casinos – expanding the total in Illinois to 16. The Chicago market is saturated, with gross gaming revenue down 3% year over year, said Harry Curtis, a gaming analyst at Nomura/Instinet. “Demand is not as endless as the legislature would like to believe,” he said in a research note on June 4. A day prior, David Katz, a gaming industry analyst at Jefferies, had said, “Historical evidence suggests competitive impact could reach 10%-20% of EBITDA,” especially for operators like Penn National Gaming, Boyd, Eldorado and Caesars. Yikes Competition is so tough! Katz said he expects Churchill Downs would have the most to benefit by adding casino gaming to its facility in Arlington Heights, Illinois.<--- Our Boys!!! A twist in the Illinois law will keep outside operators from offering sports betting for two years. That means companies that were early adopters on sports gambling and mobile betting won’t get a head start in Illinois: no MGM Resorts, no DraftKings, no FanDuel, which alone has taken half the New Jersey sports betting market share. Wow FanDuel has half of NJ share! That's how I read that. Fanduel is an IPO worth waiting for! Maybe the author meant Draftkings & Fanduel... Hummm- I read it as Fanduel. “The gaming industry is very mature. The largest population centers, excepting Texas and Atlanta, are becoming increasingly saturated with access to gaming,” Katz said in an interview. “It becomes very competitive. Operators and developers are chasing thinner and thinner returns.” I've noticed a lot of Hedge Funds entering Churchill Downs. Clearly there's a lot more going on here than Horse racing which was awful this year! Terrible horses involved in the Triple Crown..
Yeah sports betting probably won't move the casino's too much. It takes a lot to move an elephant so to speak. I was thinking more along the lines of a software company, behind the scenes type thing that will power the mobile apps and skim pennies per transaction as Americans bet play by play. Something synonymous to a Shopify if that makes sense. No need to invest in casino's.... we need the software play... the gift that keeps on giving... 70% gross margin type operation. I have been remiss in my research on this. But (if it exists)... the small heretofore unheard of software company that will be (or is) the engine behind mobile betting. The company ALL the casino's will use (or are using) for their app. Anywhose.... Things are happening at Sony for ya. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-...-to-spin-off-semiconductor-unit-idUSKCN1TE395 Thats good. You spoke of needing a retail play earlier to balance out the portfolio... Five Below ($FIVE) is a good one. Wait for a pullback though on any bad China news. They have a substantial amount of growth ahead of them. The formula seems very popular with Millennial's, Gen. Z's, and their moms. CMG nipping at all time highs under the radar.... sure looks like its primed to break out. Maybe they will finally announce their entry into China. Ya know that new CEO came from YUM... he know's what it takes to get on the other side of China's wall. Ticks huh? What can one say to that? Nasty little f'rs for sure. Hope you don't get Lymes.
For retail we added Revolve grp- Yes Sony is back on fire! Thanks to some agitating by investors, they could spin off a unit or two for sure and be worth more. That is part of my thesis. Today I'm surfing around and wondering if I can squeeze in another buy or two before I leave for the summer. Did you hear about the Target stores? On fathers day or the day before they could not work any of their cash registers... I mean bigger story there for sure was it hacked is this a software hacking and why are we so centralized that all the stores feel it? To much reliance on bar codes I imagine and wanting to track every sale for their stupid research-- there must be a way of avoiding this problem which got me thinking again about RNG. I talked about this company before for some reason this stock moves like the devil it will shoot up and down $4 at a clip. Why? I have no idea it must be a hedge fund favorite-- I did notice one of their new features sounded like it could help Taget. - RingCentral continues to expand its product offering with the addition of new services. Recently, it introduced RingCentral Persist, a new solution that enables enterprise customers to continue to have communications services even if there is internet failure at their location. RingCentral Persist adds resiliency to its already-strong delivery infrastructure... So RNG now at $117 and we know from past analysis this stk goes to $124 very easily-- we have to ask ourselves is now the time to take a wack at RNG in the hope it breaks out to a new high? I'm leaning towards YES. This SMAR is VERY sexy I could tell by looking at it. If you have unlimited funds Buy this too! I have to work within certain confines. Already this is a pretty big portfolio for ET and I think that's because things might spread out here-- These non mega tech and such it might be their time along with materials and Energy and such... Even Banks. So SMAR did a secondary and went higher this is usually a good tell-- It's a cloud thing, it's too difficult now to understand... 9:15... and this is the most powerful market in the world... you have to ask yourself something: Do I Feel Lucky?.. Well DO YOU PUNK! ~
Rosenblatt stays at Outperform and raises its RingCentral (NYSE:RNG) target from $105 to $135 citing the report's "strong metrics across all key business areas." Oppenheimer (Outperform) moves from $117 to $130 on increasing confidence RNG can "grow its subscriptions business at Tier 1 rates (30%+), while improving operating margins with scale." RingCentral gains Needham as a bull Jun. 18, 2019 7:25 AM ET|About:RingCentral, Inc. (RNG)| Needham starts RingCentral (NYSE:RNG) at Buy and a $140 price target, a 20% upside. Good Morning Stonedinvestors! And welcome to a new all time high! - Yes it seems my job is nearly done here. I came on during a hellish sell off and stood my ground. I laid out a plan and provided a blueprint. I put my own funds on the line and freely gave away all my best ideas. For that I was bitten by a tick in just the very worst place. Did my thread here end up on the ET "most viewed list?" No. Somehow no. Despite the fact that my ideas my stocks are so much different than any other investment guru, despite the pain and humiliation i went through to get to this point- No. The problem about being bitten by a tick is the almost PTSD you go through while you wait to see if you feel the dreaded symptoms. It's NO JOKE folks I have had Lyme disease before and I have seen grown men felled to their knees by the ever small attacker. Now I have aches and pains every day and suffer from another problem of ligaments being too tight, my toes curl in a weird way I am like a bat. I am naturally soar and on the hunt know for things like joint pain, knee pain which I had the other day-- but once again those ligaments wrap around those knees.. my whole left side is messed up. Now you want me to spot a ring? A circle of infection... and that ring is around my manhood. By definition i can't have a ring there!~ It's just a line that connects to another line that only a midget could see... Staring down so much you would think i own a cell phone. I don't. Good News. WE ARE UP OVER $12 on our Revolve purchase-- RVLV -- in less than a week. Part of this was my timing in the buy but part of this is the research we do very day early in the morning. If I have done anything productive here I hope it's that I have shown the way of research leading to ideas, and watch lists being used as springboard platforms. With that being said lets go to an all time high! And see what ideas come to us-- Right Now I'm thinking Delta... and a few sexy ideas. ~stoney
