    You're funny.

Now... switching over from biotechs to our gambling stocks... put Sinclair Broadcast Group (SBGI) on your radar.

Without a long winded explanation... just do it. As long as the Justice Dept doesn't shoot down their purchase of the regional Fox Sports channels from Disney... which they won't because Sinclair forces all their local news affiliates to be pro-Trump... I think they have their eyes set on this brave new frontier of play by play gambling. E-sports too. Imagine that. Betting on some fat kid that can't get laid playing Red Rum Redemption competitively. I'm tellin' ya... it gonna be the next big thing. Billions in revenue.

So read up on that purchase Stoney. SBGI's. They stole these things from Disney. How they're going to pay for them baffles me but I guess they had teams of little Ivy League elves that figured that out. It sure looks like a lot of debt on their books though. The free cash flow appears to be intact for now however. And we're coming into an election year... always good for the top-line of local TV operations .... of which they own most in America. I'd wait till they dropped to about $46 though on the (according to the ET guru's) "impending market crash". Even at $53, they've had quite the run. It was a great short at $62 last month. Got ahead of itself on the hype.

Enjoy the pool jets. Keep the mice out.

  2. Indeed the jets of the pool serve more than one function I have noticed how much prettier the water is with the ripples in it. Ripples create motion and motion resembles nature. In some ways isn't the stock market like that? We must create these ripples or the market doesn't look right. That whole lack or urgency trade whatever they call it the VIX being dead trade Low-Vol monsters that whole group got washed out. By a ripple.

Please who is this-->(according to the ET guru's) "impending market crash". Who is the Guru? Baron? He rarely speaks. The topic interests me. I've felt that we are in possibly the 10th year of a rally? That seems long but a deeper thought has been the 2008 Crash when 50% was wiped out doesn't that have to be revisited somehow? Won't another bubble form somewhere like in small business lending? In itself that won't take us down but I'm very scared by what I see in retail. Stores are closing left and right. This personally affects me because along with my brother I control a storefront lease here in NYC that pays for everything. Without that I'd be in a really tough spot-working.

Something ties all of this together, the breaking up of big tech and the possible topping out of the long 10 year rally. When Amazon's market cap surpassed ALL OF RETAIL'S ... Yes that happened every single other retail stock lumped together and Amazon was bigger. That was a seminal moment in all of this and had deeper implications for all of us.

Back To Gambling. I'm getting the feeling that Van wants more than Sony in the portfolio for the future of sports betting and that revenue. I like the Sinclair story but we have to nail down the Trump insider who is against all of this a Casino guy who has had the rules slightly changed to his benefit. I'll dig this up- NJ is in lawsuit I believe over this--

I wonder if Churchill Downs comes into play and if that's even still a public company. ~stoney

    Illinois gaming hits hyperspeed

    Jun. 3, 2019 10:22 AM ET|About:Boyd Gaming Corporation (BYD)|

The gambling expansion bill passed over the weekend by the Illinois legislature authorizes six new casinos, sports betting and slots at O'Hare and Midway as well as truck stops. Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker is expected to sign the bill shortly.

Union Gaming's John DeCree says slot suppliers are a key beneficiary of the new legislation given the sheer magnitude of newly authorized gaming positions, calling out Churchill Downs CHDN (CHDN+1.4%) is an obvious beneficiary with its Arlington Park racetrack and sports betting across its OTB network in the state.<---- WHAT!!!! AN OTB NETWORK !!! VAN!!! VAN!!

  6. Sinclair Broadcast Group (SBGI-Get Report) could face pressure after the television station owner reported mixed first-quarter results.

The Baltimore-based company reported first-quarter earnings of 31 cents per share on revenue of $722.1 million. Analysts polled by Zacks were expecting the company to report earnings of 39 cents per share on revenue of $709 million. //

Sinclair Broadcasting's (NASDAQ:SBGI) $9.6B deal to acquire 21 regional sports channels may be beloved by stockholders - but lenders are less enthused, theNew York Postreports.

Since winning the auction to acquire the 21 regional sports networks from Disney, Sinclair has had a tough time finding a lender to replace a $1.025B bridge loan it secured from JPMorgan.

Sinclair wants a loan with less onerous terms than the one it has with JPMorgan, but lenders are balking at the company’s conditions.//

CHDN's management is experienced and focused on running its operating businesses well and creating shareholder value.

All three core lines of business continue to show constant growth, with management continuing to invest in future growth and opportunistic M&A.

The company’s debt was recently refinanced in December 2017, lowering interest rates and lengthening maturities.

Lastly, CHDN is well positioned for potential iGaming (real money online sports gambling) should the upcoming US Supreme Court ruling on the PASPA law (Professional/Amateur Sports) overturn current restrictions.

New Jersey Sues U.S. for Adelson Link to Online Gambling Crackdown

    May 7, 2019,

New Jersey sued the U.S. Justice Department, claiming it failed to respond to the state’s demand for documents linking a recent crackdown on legal online gambling to lobbying efforts by casino magnate and Republican mega-donor Sheldon Adelson.

The Justice Department is violating the Freedom of Information Act by not responding to a February request for information about the new enforcement policy’s reported link to Adelson, whose brick-and-mortar casino businesses are threatened by online gambling, New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir Grewal said in a federal complaint filed Tuesday in Trenton.

“The residents of New Jersey deserve to know why the Justice Department is threatening to come after an industry we legalized years ago,” Grewal said in a statement. “It’s especially important that we figure out whether this federal crackdown is the result of a lobbying campaign by a single individual seeking to protect his personal business interests.”

Online gaming in New Jersey generates $353 million in annual revenue and $60 million in direct gaming taxes, the attorney general said.

Adelson is a friend of President Donald Trump, who awarded a Presidential Medal of Freedom to the casino magnate’s wife last year. Adelson has been a staunch opponent of online wagers, claiming it will lead to more betting addiction.<----And he owns Las Vegas Sands...

  7. WATCH LIST: CHDN ::
    CHDN @ $102.78
+3.64 yesterday (3.67%). // We are at a 52 week high... but we are also at the levels we were in 2018 is this a one year top or base before break out. i would bet on break out. The chart has a channel $72-$78 ---> $102-$103. In bad times you are down in the $70's but here we are beating earnings and with no China exposure and a leg in this new betting frontier. This stock will likely run $20 and maybe more if we can get Adelson out of the picture through some settlement between NJ and the US.

So we have a very weak ADP report which indicates a bad Jobs report on Friday. Lets look for some weakness and try and grab this stock around $100. ~si
