par for the course. we've had a number of days that started or ended like this. wasn't it last friday where the market tanked 6.5% in the first 15 minutes? i can't even remember anymore, it has become so common.
what i found interesting was that rut dropped nearly 5% but deep otm puts were unchanged. iv is dropping hard on these options; you'd expect puts to increase 100-200% on this type of selling.
This is call non-stop raping of longs. .... --> US --> Asia --> Europe --> US --> Asia --> Europe .... Round and round we go.

How far OTM you talking? It looks like the movement 7 and 8 strikes OTM were moving about like they should have. Maybe people aren't scared of the black swan anymore, and thus don't buy super OTM put protection. That was soooo last week.
