On 5 August 1976 Clapton provoked an uproar and lingering controversy when he spoke out against increasing immigration during a concert in Birmingham. Visibly intoxicated, Clapton voiced his support of controversial political candidate Enoch Powell and announced on stage that Britain was in danger of becoming a "black colony". Clapton was quoted telling the audience: "I think Enoch's right ... we should send them all back. Throw the wogs out! Keep Britain white!"

Clapton continued: "I used to be into dope, now I’m into racism. It’s much heavier, man. Fucking wogs, man. Fucking Saudis taking over London. Bastard wogs. Britain is becoming overcrowded and Enoch will stop it and send them all back. The black wogs and coons and Arabs and fucking Jamaicans and fucking (indecipherable) don’t belong here, we don’t want them here. This is England, this is a white country, we don’t want any black wogs and coons living here. We need to make clear to them they are not welcome. England is for white people, man. We are a white country. I don’t want fucking wogs living next to me with their standards. This is Great Britain, a white country, what is happening to us, for fuck's sake? We need to vote for Enoch Powell, he’s a great man, speaking truth. Vote for Enoch, he’s our man, he’s on our side, he’ll look after us. I want all of you here to vote for Enoch, support him, he’s on our side. Enoch for Prime Minister! Throw the wogs out! Keep Britain white!"

I don't use racial slurs because, besides being in poor taste, I find it offensive when people use racial slurs against white people such as "whitey", "crackah", "pinky", "white boy" etc. It would be a bit hypocritical of me to use racial slurs against other groups yet expect them not to do so against mine. While many of them can be tasteless and hypocritical, it doesn't mean that I must also stoop to that level.

 

the reason some white folks,3 or 4 can say nig is that the black man hereing it knows the thought process behind it, your thought process is all nig without sayng the word,which is worse .... the jew or mexican,or black or white or asian or indian or italian,,or etc,,does not need a racial slur to figure out your a biggot
