Can we daytrade Futures?

  1. I had a hard time finding this bit of info on the margin rules, I have seen conflicting info here at elitetrader and other forums.

Daytrading stock options falls under the Pattern Day Trading
    rules..

Obviously, You can daytrade futures. However, as usuall it`s trade off. There is nothing like this product is better than others. There is a lot of written materials regarding this problem. For me, as former futures daytrader (I trade swing and position now) the most realistic description was the one in Mr. Van Tharp`s "Trade Your Way..."

Anyway, good luck and lot of patience:)

  3. profitseer was 100% correct. Once you trade with globex, there is no alternative. And once they figure out how to "eliminate" the pit in chicago it will truly become the preferred way to trade by all.

  4. there are no restrictions on daytrading equity options either. I have a regular retail account and I do it occasionally with no restrictions on my account.
