He could be determined not to cut rates as fast when a disinflationary recession is under way. That remains to be seen.

You have to make nice with the Chinese on the supply chains and tariffs. You also have to bend over with the Russians on war and energy.

  4. Or, what if the FED (and U.S. Treasury) actually wanted moderate-to-higher inflation.
That debt number ($32 Trillion) would look a lot more manageable.
And no Federal program (Medicare, SocSecurity, etc) will come under scrutiny.
Same with current politicians, or those who have passed away (think LBJ).
Just saying, a little inflation will solve some of the problems.

That is straight out of the book of South American inflation. As the record shows, it is not the road to economic prosperity

  6. Yes. Economic prosperity for lower income and medium income citizens will decline.
But economic prosperity for the Central Government will be greatly improved.
Obviously I will be rooting for the lower and middle classes.
They could protect themselves by investing in tangible assets.
But most do not have excess cash to buy any assets.

Everything Biden, Democrats and RINOs have done is increase the inflation with unbridled spending. So, they keep cranking up the printing presses and printing trillions of dollars with nothing backing it up. Ukraine alone has gotten how much $100 billion in weapons and financial assistance? Hell, even the US is paying for the salaries of Ukrainian troops yet, the US is not involved if you believe Joe Biden's BS? The US dollar is losing its value, day by day and it will get worst, not better. There are no adults left in the top echelons of the US government from the President, US Congress, even at the lower levels of bureaucrats handling government monies.

  9. Here's a historical suggestion. Do to Ukraine what the Western Allies did with Germany.

Cut Ukraine in half right down the middle. Then spend many decades with the Western world on one side of the Iron Wall, facing the Rooskies on the other side of the Iron Wall. All our weapons keep pointed at each other and we make faces through one generation after another, until finally one side goes bust and defaults epically. Leaving the other as the winner.

The side that finally wins, gets to unite Ukraine back together again, keeping both halves.
