  1. We've been told that we are "defending freedom"... you know, like "all around the world"...

    What about that??

The regimes in Iran, Venezuela are corrupt because of oil. Fortune that falls from the sky and that is not earned through hard work corrupts people and their mindsets.

True enterprise promotion would have been a more direct and effective means....

    China knows this well....

  4. No we can't. We're in debt we can't afford shit. We don't need another war.

But ya I think we should pull off a stunt like that. Then we should go into N. Korea, then into India, then into Russia and China, hell blow up the world. Blow up the galaxy. Lets just destroy everything. Why not.

The US has occupied the middle east since what...2003? That has given them 6 years to plan for a war with their neighbor, the Iranians. Do you think they may have thought this through a bit? The Iranian infrastructure is in complete shambles. They have an organized army but they are equipped with dated soviet supplies, for the most part. The biggest obstacles to winning a war is popular and foreign support. The US currently has neither and that is one of the reasons they are fairing so poorly in the middle east occupation. The question isn't so much about money as it is about popular and foreign support. The US has military superiority but without support they may not be able to win a middle east war.

This is exactly how you gain popular and foreign support. It is widely believed by many that the attack on Pearl Harbor was allowed to happen to give the US a ticket to enter the war. Hitler was well on his way to defeating Britian the the citizens of the US wanted nothing to do with the war so how do you gain popular and foreign support? How do you get your citizens to switch from saying, "No, no no" to saying, "Go get the bastards?"

If anything happens it will just be some nuke sites getting bombed. It is amazing to see all this babbling about a war with Iran.

  8. Colbert used to joke years ago about how the invasion of Iran will soon take place. He brought up maps of the middle east showing how the USA is slowly surrounding Iran (Iraq, Afghanistan, etc.). They don't need to worry about Iran's neighbours interferring as they now occupy those territories. Worry about air space rights when planning bombing raids on Iran? Nope, got that covered. Complex logistics to get troops on the ground in Iran? Nope, bring em in through Iraq or Afghanistan. No problem.
