Can the US afford a war with Iran ?

  1. Clinton tried to throttle the growth of government and deficits. His raising of taxes was less desirable than cutting the size of government, however.

  2. Not a matter of omniscience... just logic.

    Try it some time.

I try to make an effort to stimulate thought. Unfortunately, usually get only brain-dead partisan spew... (heavy sigh).

(BTW... lack of class... to pick on someone because of their name... who knows, maybe yours means something dirty in Usefuckistan.)

  3. Depends what kind of war you're talking about. A real war...easily. Couple of nukes and it's done. But that's not what we're talking about, is it? We're talking about the modern day bullshit war. You know, the win the hearts and minds type war. The, we must be mindful of collateral damage type war. The nation building type war. NO! We cannot afford that. We can't afford the one we're in now let alone another one.

  4. Logic is indeed power. But which logic? Categorical? Propositional? Modal? Fornal? Intuitionist? etc. etc.

    Which one do you use?

  5. Yes, if we

    1) use a sudden, unannounced 3 week air campaign only. Start by using every available cruise missile and stealth fighter/bomber, to flatten every radar installation, ship, airfield, missile site, military compound, propaganda, television, regional/national political and military building DURING THE WEEKDAY, when every possible cleric or military leader is at WORK.

Think 1,500 cruise missiles, launched simultaneously.

    2) STAY AWAY from every moderate/liberal-inhabited site. Destroy the conservative/military leadership, that controls everything

    3) Do not touch financial sectors, factories, residential areas or anything else that houses or employs the average Iranian. Take away his job/relative, and anyone can become a terrorist.

    4) Do NOT retry the failed "Win the Hearts and Minds" that worked REALLY well in Iraq and Afghanistan :D

  6. Your understanding of logic is limited to mathematical concepts?

You can't go with, "there's thunder and lightning, dark clouds, and everything is wet... likely then, it has rained"?

  8. USA has the most powerful army and weapons. USA can afford World war III.

    Forget Iran.

  9. I think Israel should have a full out go at Iran, on their own. USA should stay out of it, until Russia steps in to help Iran (which they no doubt will). Basically all pawns have to be sacrificed. Russia must stop playing games, Russia and Iran are so far up each others arse holes they brush each others teeth each morning.
