Can the president actually shoot someone and be protected by the office he holds?

We always knew Treefrog was non-binary.

Unfortunately ex acting AG Matt Whitaker is not exactly "laymen". Things are being stretched beyond their elasticity, even down to Mitch the nihilist releasing his gimps (Gohmert etc.) to pay act a stunt on procedure.

Talk about binary thinking, to you it’s impeach or nothing.

No. The president cannot shoot his political rivals and be insulated from prosecution while in office. Like all rights and protections in the constitution there are limits and the Supreme Court needs to weigh in on what those limits are.

  3. Yes, it is impeach or nothing now when it comes to removal. I don't see Trump resigning.

I covered the issue of whether the framers supported criminal prosecution.
They did not for abuse of power which was what posters were self-stimulating about and responding to whitaker, so I was responsive to that issue. duh.

Binary decisions are not necessarily the product of a binary mind as is the case with you. The non-binary mind spends lots and lots of time looking at a wide range of factors before reaching the decision. This is the case with impeachment. I/many of us have looked at a wide range of factors and are ready to go now OR NOT if the dems can't get it up. Yes, it is do or don't do at this point.

  5. Wrong. This would be an unconstitutional attempt to stage a coup or insurrection, and to preserve the Supremacy Clause and Separation of Powers, the president would be required to use all necessary force to repel it.

This thread is about the court needing to weigh in on the extent to which Trump can break the law and be immune from legal action while in office.

  8. And there has been an allegation that he broke the law through a criminal violation of abuse of power and I responded directly and completely to that.

    You are welcome.

    Overnight

If President Trump walked up to some citizen on the street and shot him dead for no reason...Committed a capital crime, and he was NOT immediately arrested and charged with a crime?

Welcome Revolutionary War mark II...This time, the rebels have MANY more guns. Big beautiful guns. More guns than any rebel force in history. Beautiful. And they have flags. Big flags.

People here are losing sight of the trees, because they are lost in the forest. Or something.
