Can Prop firms benefit well-capitalized traders?

  1. Thanks Lescor. Yes, I can certainly see the benefits to anyone, even a relatively well-capitalized trader, of being able to reduce the percentage of one's total capital used for daytrading while concomitantly being able to increase the percentage of total capital that can be allocated to long-term investments or for other purposes. That would actually hold some real advantages for me as a large percentage of my own capital are in long-term investments, with another significant percentage dedicated to a volatility-based options strategy that I've been trading for several years now.

Still, having traded for myself and by myself for a number of years, I'm just not sure how comfortable I'd be affiliating with any prop firm, particularly in light of the plethora of negative comments I've read on this board. Nonetheless, I admitedly know little about the industry and am intrigued enough by the possibilities to warrant some further inquiries.

    Thanks again for the reply.

    Regards,

    HD
