What I mean by not trading is not to trade BEFORE a major event that can possibly result in a Black Swan event. But come to think of it, I just thought of it, if you really want to trade before a possible black swan event, there IS a way to trade that is 100% safe: Straddle option!!! No matter which side wins, you will ALWAYS profit!! There you go. Yes, I have seen real black swans too. They are BEAUTIFUL!
I never read or listen to any news, just follow my system. I also never listen to other people. So I never have a major event to watch out for. When I traded forex I tried to know when there were intervention from central banks. Because they could be very violent.
