Bear in mind that you should update when major versions change. (First numbers of the serial) Do not try to control the beast for so long, or it will spit on your face.
You won't find any others. This has been discussed a lot of times. Unless you are a niche player in futures or options spreads IB is the only reasonably serious game in town. Every now and then you see Robert Morse push his platform and services but his general intransparency and the lack of services and features that IB offers are just not there. Though not everyone needs access to global markets and all asset classes.
Well, clearly IB doesn't run the kind of test suite on their software that some of us expect. So... although I'll agree you should give extra consideration when a major version changes, always use your judgment and do some testing beforehand anyway. I'm still on 981.3 and wondering if they've fixed this simple stupid little thing yet; it's only been like almost a year.
Same here, and it works well for me. I will continue using this version until IB forces me to go to a newer version.
Either way, keep this page at hand, boys. https://www.interactivebrokers.com/en/general/api-notes-index.php
Ninjatrader have archived old versions of TWS. Clicking on link launches download https://ninjatrader.com/ninjatrader/TWS/Trader-Workstation-10.16-1k.exe https://ninjatrader.com/ninjatrader/TWS/IB-Gateway-10.16-1k.exe
Well, I wouldn't call this an archive of old versions. After all, there's only one file and you can't browse for anything else. This just looks like the version they recommend you use with their stuff. Is there a directory with All Indexes directive enabled anywhere?
