We're watching the death of socialism on a worldwide scale. Socialism works only as long as there is somebody to pay for it and the world has run out of people to pay for it. If Socialism dies it does not mean that the USA dies. A lot of people might die and a lot of people might be horribly upset about the death of socialism but the USA will still be here if we hang on to our constitutional rights.. I don't give a f%^k so much about economic things, forget that s%^t, money does not lead to health or wisdom. It's nice to have enough money of course....

If you want to see pure capitalism go hang out with mobsters, deal some drugs and try to cope with all that s%^t, I have... I don't want pure capitalism or pure socialism, I want capitalism with some REGULATIONS and MORALS to keep it from getting crazy and to keep the greedy bastards among us from screwing things up.

The Left are just insane really. They want no morals at all, no responsibility on the head of anyone but "greedy capitalists" and they have driven us right into a blind alley...

The only political topic that I see to be relevant is framed best by the lifeboat dilemma, who gets tossed out of the lifeboat and who will be in charge once the lifeboat finds an island? The promises to help people in the USA alone are beyond the Public Sector's ability to pay to the tune of $60 to 200 Trillion... somebody has to be chucked out of the lifeboat while all the socialist economies of the world are inflating their currencies in a race to the bottom to keep the dream alive and to keep the Left in power...

The weak and elderly on fixed incomes are sitting ducks, they will slip into the night without a sound... the welfare sector might be next, single moms are weak too..

Both Capitalism and Socialism have their strengths and weaknesses imo.
The trick is to combine the strengths of the two and throw out both their weaknesses
The fixed income pensioners etc. had better get organised not to " slip into the night without a sound ". Put up a bit of a struggle at least, why not ?

The classic problem with the lifeboat analogy as it is typically used is that those tossed out of the boat do not sink out of sight.
