Do a search for Don Bright, donuts, weight loss, and balance sheets along with my name. It's all there.
Alright, I found out that it has different divisions. One being on Madison St. I feel like I should win something now.
I can only speak for the futures world. Every prop firm is different. I do not know any futures traders that traded for themselves and did NOT go through financial difficulties (eventually). I know a few large traders that had BK's and did not have a problem opening up a futures account or getting backing. I know of one that ran up a large debit (with a brand name clearing firm) and they just let him trade out of it (they were making as much as his debit in 6 mths of his commissions). I do personally know of someone with a Bankruptcy that opened up an online brokerage account and got margin with Tradestation (maybe it was a futures account but I know it was a margin account---futures firms are notorious for letting the financial disabled open up 5k-10k accounts). I would assume that Bankruptcy is the end of the world. But from what I have seen, whether chapter 7 & 11, it is not depending on what you want to do. Trading is entrepreneurial and many entrepreneurs go bust or have financial difficulty. Nothing new. Work out your problems one way or another and keep your head up.
