    It's been awhile since this post - I'm wondering if you're still using him for tax preparation and would you still recommend? ACtively looking for someone other than Green...
    Thanks!

    ANY or any CPA that do small business can do well;
    a tax book could help\ not that i would do part time taxes or brain surgery with a book alone .
    I do like an estimate on the phone or in person, like for 10 or 20 pages of federal tax forms.
    HR Block lady said '' i cant give you an estimate'' Sure she can on 10 or 20 pages, she just does not want to or must not be a good price @ all or she does not want to admit she does not much business or trading. IF you get an IRS audit or your book - tax experiment; let us know how it turns out.
    MONEY Maga zine did a real complex tax return, some years with a bout 50 different CPAs doing it+ about 50 different taxes numbers owed. So i never try to squeeze last nickle out of IRS:D:D

  5. What trader tax benefit can you get WITHOUT TTS? AFAIK, you are just a Schedule D "investor" without TTS.

  6. There’s no benefits per se, but if you have the mind and time, you can dance the trading activity you did. With active trading there’s a cap to losses, with TTS you’re not subject to the same cap

    You have more freedom as a Schedule D "investor" but the devil is in the details, with TTS its closer to straight forward debits and credits
