I just don't get all the negativity when someone is successful. Can you not rejoice at others' good fortune? Maybe he will lose it all tomorrow, maybe not. I sense loads of bitterness, failed efforts that this kid is somehow projecting back with his success.... little old angry men.
No anger but on reflection I made a mistake, when I think bs is being spouted, my response should be; "This is quite normal, don't even bother reacting because it is a continual repeated occurance".
We know that 2020 was very unusual and for those, like me, who got into market trading that year we can be overly optimistic about what trading is and youtube is full of 2020 superstar traders. 2021 is teaching me a lesson, that it's far more difficult to make money trading than 2020 led me to believe, but I'm also sure that superstar traders will continue to fill youtube, the same or new ones. The great thing about trading is that it's an individual activity. Your decisions leading to success or failure are all yours and if that's too difficult to manage, put your money in a fund and forget about it. I can't beat my fund, but I'm having too much fun trading.
The first question I always hear coming back is: Are you able to be CONSISTENLY profitable? Let's first see if 2021 and 2022 will be as good as 2020. He should be making millions again. If not he was just a one day fly...like many others. How many winners of trading championships disappear after they won? How many were CONSISTENLY profitable the following years?
Dunno... if I made $5M in a year, I wouldn't care what other people think.. not out to prove anything.
I agree, but I read already people want to subscribe to his channel/blog/youtube. So my reaction was towards these people. There are many one shot/one year gurus that afterwards never made anything anymore. He made indeed $5M but don't make a supertrader from him. If I was that man I would even never disclose my profits.
Yes 2021 is not as generous, but keep in mind that it’s much easier to trade with bigger stack - you don’t need crazy percentage returns to generate same amount of money/income. The pressure is off which lets you be more patient and wait for best opportunities. It’s not about being superstar trader, it’s about accomplishing your goals/dreams.
Have you guys missed The Race to 10MM thread? Those guys are up just as much as this guy, and they are posting their positions, so nothing to see here really. Except maybe the charging for fees, but that is just good business sense.
