Let's take'em one at a time. 1. African American a made up PC term? I agree, it's not a race and it is a PC tool for the race baiters. 2.Response to panhandlers, I only carry hundreds. Insensative and out of touch. 3.Shared sacrifice and poor don't pay for anything. Insensative and out of touch. 4.Palin/Beck. It's called humor. Those looking to be offended will be offended. Get a life. 5.Self centered, self rightous, socialist, man hating bicth...Don't know who he was talking about, but he was probably right. 6. Ugly men get a pass while ugly women don't. Absolutley true! Women that look less than perfect have a much more difficult time in their career than men do. Looks count for far more than they should! They shouldn't, but they do.
I watched Beck just once and didn't care for it, but I will say that those quotes are funny, if only in an Archie Bunker kind of way.
The question is not whether they are true or false, since they are opinions and not facts but whether its indecent or insensitive.
I find it funny you find that rude seeing as how you are most likely white, once again media matters has taken a situation out of context for you. When he said this he was talking to a bunch of black conservatives, and it was in fact one of the black conservatives who started in on this topic, and started complaining about all of the politically correct garbage which comes from the left. If you would have seen what he said in its entirety it makes more sense, he also said "I don't call my self a german american" and what he said makes sense, funny how an all black crowd agreed with Beck on this. But partisan guys such as yourself once again chop quotes, take stuff out of context all to incite anger against this guy. I can not say anything about the other quotes because i did not see those, but i assume he was being sarcastic in a lot of cases, as he jokes around on his show all the time.
So criticizing a TV show host who gets paid 2 million a year by a media conglomerate owned by an Australian makes me a partisan? Basically I should gobble down everything the guy says and the parts that are offensive should be considered a joke. Got that now.
Can't respond to "hermit", as I have him on ignore. But I wonder what he considers "offensive"? I'm a Beck watcher, and I've yet to hear ANYTHING offensive (but then, I'm all in favor of The Constitution, Limited Government, Fair Taxes, Fiscal Responsibility... that crap) ... beyond his sometimes annoying theatrics. But factually and conceptually, he's spot on.
You honestly cannot see how a member of one the groups he mentions in his jokes (I admit some of them are funny) might find the joke offensive? I mean, I can see how you personally are not offended, but no other people?
