So we're going to fix the cops then? Fine. Two things that bug me. The cops failure to understand the total ban on choking people. The other is cops tasing the shit out of people who are on the ground, handcuffed and otherwise immobilized. The choking thing baffles me. That cop doing an 8 minute pin choke showed me that cops don't get it, institutionally. I feel like I could explain it to a stadium full of new cop cadets in less than 5 minutes. Do. Not. Choke. People. That includes choke holds, choke pins and baton chokes. How can it get any simpler? I would tell cadets that they face imprisonment if they choke someone in the field. I would demonstrate the illegal chokes. Yeah, about 5 minutes. And there is lots of video of cops tasering the hell out of people who are cuffed, on the ground, face down but not 100% compliant. Stop that. The Taser is for non-lethal immobilization of someone resisting or fleeing On Their Feet. It is not a cattle prod.
