IB Gateway is unstable and needs to be restarted. I want the authentication information to be saved even when the entire process or OS is restarted. Currently, it only saves credentials during an automatic restart.
I currently run fully automated systems using IBC, on two accounts. I have an individual account and a small business (institutional) account with IB. Both are opted-out of the 2FA for trading. I completely share the sentiments of windwave and others about the instability of IB Gateway. Just in case you aren't aware of it, there's another IBC-type C# nuget package called IBAutomater which automates the proper handling of IB Gateway auto-restarts. It can even force (via a C# method) an auto-restart of IB Gateway, without logging out, therefore effectively solving the main issue associated with the IB Gateway's instability. I'd recommend checking it out. https://github.com/QuantConnect/IBAutomater Interestingly though, I've only been notified of this change of 2FA on my individual account. My business account (and a friend of mine, who also has a business account) hasn't received any notification of this change. I wonder whether this is applying to retail accounts only?
I have a business account and I'm on the new 2FA. I don't get the instability thing about In gateway. I don't have any problem with that. It's running fine from Monday morning until Sunday evening without any problems. I'm using the auto-restart setting. FWIW, my system is fully automated.
I don't think anything is suspicious... I agree, my sharpe ratio has been 8 for the last 20 years and my cock is 14 inches long and as fat as a beer can. My computer never crashes, the power never goes out, every woman I say "hello" so wants to sleep with me. What's there not to believe. There is *never* a problem with the TWS/IBGW ever. That's perfectly believable... unless you've used it for an extended period of time. If you claim you've never had a problem with the TWS/IBGW then you're not trying hard enough.
Ok, I see. I'm sorry for your inability to understand simple English sentences. I feel sorry for you. I hope you'll find some friends soon. Big hug to your mother.
Lol, look... the claim itself is outrageous. You want me to take it serously? Fine... it's a piece of software, written by human beings that are fallible, and it's a reasonably complex piece of software at that. It's only natural that, on occasion, there are some problems with it. You happy now? OMG...
I've been using IBGw for the last 14 years, running 24/7/365, sometimes running 2 instances at the same time (real money + paper trading). Never said that I've never ever had any problem with it. But I don't remember when was last time. I'm using it for order management only, not for market data.
That's great! Can you do me a huge favor *please*... test this out on your live money account (during trading hours) and tell me if they've fixed it yet?
