We used high speed trains on our visit to Italy last year. Super clean, fast and quiet. Best mass transit I've ever used and I've used them all. I never really understood why they tried to do this in CA given how much people love their cars and people there just don't use mass transit. This would be no-brainer on the east coast, say from Richmond, to DC to Philly, NY and Boston, maybe even to the Hampton Roads area. The DC area is so congested now, and this would really help. Guess it just makes too much sense to put it where it is most needed.
