  6. Shortly after Arnold was elected Gov. he quickly floated 3 propositions on the ballot to reform state Gov. The first was
a constitutional admendment to cap the future growth of state spending to a formula based on population growth and annual inflation. This would effectively schakel lawmakers from legislating irresponsible spending. The real shocker is that the population of CA actually shot this proposition down. It was
coined the "Live within our means Act". The majority of voters
here seem to think that indifinite, indescriminite, spending is
    ok.

Agreed, but wouldn't everyone get to vote on whether to abolish it or not?

  10. Just because someone doesn’t pay taxes doesn’t mean they are not hard working or not responsible. When someone works 2 jobs, 40+ hours a week and still can’t afford a small apartment or health insurance, something is wrong. Can you blame them for voting for what they thought they were supposed to get by working hard? We were told when we were little that if we worked hard and played by the rules, then we can do anything. But does anybody really think that’s the case today? Granted there are many people who are lazy and think they are owed everything, but this is not most people.

Think of it another way. Yea those people on minimum wage don’t pay taxes, but let’s say that every person should make $5 an hour more, but they don’t because of a tight labor market. So for every 10 people who make minimum wage, 1 person is getting all that extra money and paying taxes on it, at a higher rate. So in the end doesn’t it work out?
