More than likely someone who was a) upside down in their mort and wanted out and B) had fire insurance, that lives in the vicinity of where the fires where started. Apparently many didn't have fire insurance and with the mortgage/financial filter it shouldn't be too difficult to narrow down a short list opf suspects in the geographical area. I predict they will catch someone within 2 months.
Time 2 buy. Wildfire story bullish for markets The fact that some fire is dominating the headlines indicates that the other crap shorts keep talking about (subprime,s credit crunch, housing bubble, lending issues, mortgages, rising oil, rasiing food, rising gas, rising gold) ISN'T a big deal cause it isn't in the headlines.
Your starting to scaring me Hook N. Sinker. I hope I didn't give you any ideas. But seriously, it makes you wonder. Arson is a very effective and a difficult crime to solve. Also, the damage this could do to an already distress credit market is something else to consider. Another point is that the FED does not like to cut rates with oil prices at all time highs. Image the FED does not cut rates, or cut enough. What would happen to these markets? The financial ramifications of this story have yet to unfold IMO.
Sure you want to short the insurers? Seems to me all those people who lost their homes will rebuild and guess what? They will all need insurance again and at rates higher than they were paying before.
It's the SIX LARGEST ECONOMIC POWER in the world. But of course only a douche-bag such as yourself would think that that wouldn't make a difference to anyone, including yourself. Think again, moron.
Stock do you actually believe what you post? Come on you actually think the mkt rallies becuase SoCal is on fire? MSFT has nothing to do with it? This is why you are so irritating all those posts and little to zero substance.
Read my post more closely, serpent's egg. It isn't the fire, its the fact that the story dominated the headlines. MSFT earnings did help, but it isnt the whole story.
Of course it dominated the news, it is a big fucking deal! What the fuck does it have to do with the stock market? Look putz, there is much more to life than the fucking market. You should go outside once in a while, sitting in your room at your parents house posting here all day is no way to live.
Right on Frank. Tell you what, the fire got out of hand in Arrowhead, Portola Hills and San Diego, because the first thing they do is rush to Malibu to save the billionaires homes. That is always ground zero. Its good media. Malibu is a slender sliver of beachfront homes on the absolute western point of Los Angeles, next stop is a few islands then Japan! Each one of the residents of the "boo" can finance their own personal fire station. The Santa Ana blows east to west, you dont take all your assets and move them to the absolute western point of and protect 100 multi million dollar homes on the last mile and a half of north America and let everything else in the middle turn to ash. You should fight it at the eastern edge and backfire your way west. The pinheads like Speilberg, Geffen, Katzenberg, Seinfeld, et al in Malibu can walk out their back door and wade in the Pacific Ocean, most view the pent-annual fires as a reason to 'redecorate' anyway. Vast majority dont even live in them most of the time. The folks in the canyons and foothills surrounding SoCal got nowhere to go.
