Poll: Cain and Perry lead in Texas Posted by CNN Producer Gabriella Schwarz October 31st, 2011 08:57 AM ET (CNN) â Herman Cain and Rick Perry lead the pack of Republican presidential candidates in Perry's home state of Texas, with the other GOP hopefuls trailing, according to a new poll released Monday. The University of Texas/Texas Tribune poll indicated businessman Cain and Texas Gov. Perry statistically tied at 27% and 26% respectively among Republican primary voters. Rep. Ron Paul of Texas received 12% support, followed by former Massachusetts Gov.
