Ah, yes. Last I checked, it only takes 2 to make a sex tape. Oops, I forgot Octomom's solo enterprise.

Do you see any difference between "wealthy" as in business leaders running a company versus klans like the Kartrashians? Or are all "wealthy" just evil beings? What do you suggest? With all the rich homies in the hills getting their homes broken into, should the police actually spend their tax dollars trying to catch "bad guys" doing the thefts, or should we be allocating resources differently? Couldn't The Rich just afford their own police and detectives?

By the way, the "poor" don't spend THEIR money, they spend ours. But they get a lot of free stuff!

If anyone holds to the view that the wealthy are evil by virtue of having lots of money, it is indeed a very strange view to me. A view like that suggests a distorted or misanthropic view of society.

I'd be even more leery of someone who thought their money was being spent by the poor in contrast to the poor spending their own money. That's the kind of person that might grab a gun, climb a tower and start shooting people.

Sure. All that free stuff plus an Obamaphone or two. Yeah. All those freebies must really be free.

    Who knew?

There’s so much of what you wrote that doesn’t comport with reality it’s not worth responding to.

What I will say is wealth doesn’t make anyone evil and what I said is not a rich vs poor issue. All I did was take an incorrect statement, that the wealthy create jobs, and fix it with a correct statement, that consumption creates jobs.

Without people to buy widgets there’s no jobs to make widgets. The consumer comes before the supplier.

Okay. I guess everything I learned on Shark Tank is wrong.

Please remind me of your commentary before my next VC meeting. I want to be sure that everyone with a new idea for a product or service is wrong, because there is no consumer for them.

    Gotcha.

The reality is that the consumer doesn't create the "first" job. It's the brainchild of the inventor. Of course, if there is a market for it, then jobs will be created to handle the supply/demand.

Imagine an alternate reality where Al Gore didn't invent the internet. We could say goodbye to most the economic growth since the 90s.

You are wrong. Do you know why farmers don’t plant poison ivy?

Because no one wants poison ivy.

Innovators solve problems the consumers have. Consumers want mobile phones, someone invents the mobile phone. Consumers want a cure for cancer, innovators are busy trying to cure cancer. On and on.

You can’t flood the market with a product no one wants.

The internet was invented to solve a communication problem.
