Umm... yeah... it is too much. You exude arrogance. That's different than confidence. I am not a vendor. I don't need money. I won't accept requests for mentoring etc (anyone who has PM'd me with a request can verify this here if they would like to). I don't expect you to accept me as an authority... I would just ask that you evaluate the ideas and information I put in this forum for what they are.... so there is no need for me to verify anything as there would be if I was a silly vendor. I make my living trading and absolutely will not submit to third party verification as you discovered BoWo. Why should I? And I don't feel the same way about my systems that you pretend to feel about yours... and oddly the successful traders I know tend to actually be fairly humble. The market has a way of punishing hubris as you will find out if you ever start trading for real.
oh BoWo... thank you for taking the time to write this. It was entertaining. Where do you come up with the claim that I take other people's ideas as my own? I certainly credited my trainees system as being her work... and well I keep coming back to the fact that a little over a year ago this person worked in an industry far removed from finance (fashion)... so it certainly wasn't like I stole ideas here. Instead I taught some of the basics I outlined to you here -- basic math (which you should review), finance and accounting fundamentals, how to see buying and selling the the market, how to statistically evaluate ideas... and she put them together and came up with something that worked after some help and tweaking. Some of my trainees decide the industry isn't for them which is fine, but several of them now manage their own funds... so yeah I'm happy with my work. It is true that my interactions with intelligent people like this have far repaid me for my time and money spent training them... working with smart people challenges me to become better at what I do. Um... yeah little guy... I do have software you don't. Dude... you don't even have a Bloomberg terminal so let's start there. Also, the S&P adds / deletes system = lucky? Yes, but lucky and consistently lucky for more than a decade. Perhaps there is more to evaluating system ideas than the WealthLab Luck Ratio? (Did you get the secret decoder ring with the WL subscription?) Please expose my scam. You say: "his MO is to scam newbies with no financial or economic knowledge into creating systems." How does that work? What proof do you have? Why do you say that? Since you're the one who cried like a baby and brought up threat of legal action, you should be able to substantiate what you say... otherwise apologize... since you post your work information and personal information here it wouldn't be that hard to sue you just for kicks. how would your clients feel about that? (Probably would be fine since they are only family right?) Back that up or apologize or maybe I will sue you just for kicks... I don't mind dropping 10k on that project... could consider it a holiday gift for my lawyers. You want to find out how real I am? Feeling lucky partner? Next step is yours BoWo... choose wisely.
The week of Christmas, I'm not anticipating much. The reversal virtually in two trading days has brought us back to oversold levels, though we are not undervalued enough to take a position. Looks like my newest system Pairs Trading QID QLD 2.0 has finished it's first two months with an up 4.5% November, and flat December, but we still have a few days left before the new year. Cash Cow from BWolinsky has shown life with the last two months profitable at 1% and 2% approximately. The months before that were just a big technical headache, and it's a shame we don't know what those trades would have been recorded as. I think they'd still be around these levels. For next year, I'm looking forward to the opportunities in these two systems. I may even bring back the SDS and SSO version, but I need some more research into the right levels, as it appears too risky to trade. My Christmas Vacation starts tomorrow, and I will complete my annual trek back to my hometown in Danville, Kentucky for an 18 day straight vacation. I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! Here's to the New Year!
No really, don't go Bo! How could I ever go on without the Cash Cow! That 4% really puts a jingle in my pocket. Was counting on the extra hundred bucks or so to pay for the Christmas dinner sirloin. But remember, family is most important this time of year. If Mom and Dad want you to stay and extra week or ten, please do not disappoint.
Lol. Ha. Thank you, Sick, I knew you had more tasteful emoticons to post. Yeah, it's cool. Get to kick back, not have to work. Probably play the Wii and X-Box for a solid 5 days straight after Christmas, and I got this whole weekend to kill with my bro, especially. Of course, meeting my parents and my in-laws in the same town is cool, too. Yeah, I'll have a good time. I'm still going to have the programs running. They have spare computers, and it'll run the Cash Cow system, and I just have to check wl4.wealth-lab.com for my PTQQ2 updates. I could actually run PTQQ2 from anywhere as long as there was internet. Anyway, Happy Holidays, Sick, and to everyone.
I thought this would be fun. Of course BoWo I had that issue of Active Trader. I'm a pack rat and never throw anything out... it just never occurred to me to find a trading idea in a magazine... nor would any real trader but I know you really have no other resources. Anyway... in 45 minutes (how long have you spent screwing around with WL on this dude?) I created PAIRS TRADING QID QLD 3.0. If anyone is interested I will post the distribution from that system like I did the others. It seems to be quite a bit better than yours... here are the trades for this year... just compare them against a QQQQ chart and let me know if you think these look like good entries: 1/14/2009 Short (6.0%) 1/28/2009 Long (3.7%) 2/17/2009 Short 5.0% 3/11/2009 Long 24.4% 7/7/2009 Short (3.1%) 7/13/2009 Long 10.4% 9/1/2009 Short (2.8%) 9/4/2009 Long 4.9% 10/27/2009 Short (0.0%) 11/5/2009 Long Open I corrected a few of your critical errors that were obvious from looking at your trade list... i will give you one hint: my version of the system has the option to reverse long short rather than having to go flat... there's a little hint you can spend some time with BoWo. So... I realize this is the BEST idea from the BEST SYSTEM DEVELOPER IN THE WORLD... but it took less than an hour to create a better version without your glaring errors. Ouch. And... for the purpose of this thread... even this improved version should not be traded for all the reasons I outlined before.
Boooo....You're really sending him into Christmas break on a downer. Although, I don't think he'll put any thought into your improvement. Seems to be his trend. By the way, this has been bothering me. I can't imagine the self proclaimed "best trader in the world" and his wife, "the best Hallmark card designer in the world" getting down. Think about it. Going for another glass of Crown and then will concentrate on making about 20% on the Euro tonight.
Lol. You caught the Hallmark thing too? I believe she is "one of the greatest" Hallmark designers but not sure. I also just took another 3 minutes to run the QID QLD 3.0 system on SSO SDS and it works just as well with the exact same parameters as QID QLD. I know he's having some trouble with the SPY version but golly gee whiz it seems like I musta gone and done somethin' right don't it? BoWo if you want more info just ask nicely.
I know BoWo is probably in his Winnebago on a long trip to Kentucky... and I'm sure he will tear up a little and have a respectful moment of silence (maybe even take his hand out of the bag of cheetos in his lap and wipe his little yellow fingers on his shirt before he wipes the tears from his eyes) as he drives past the great halls of learning at Centre College (which does have like the 231st ranked finance program East of the Mississipi and West of the Appalachians. Respect.) So, sadly, he won't be able to answer us for a while. Anyway... enough fun... I updated the distribution file with the trades from the system we did here tonight. Look carefully at it against the original BoWo system. I'm happy to answer questions, but focus on why the "BoWo But Better" system (I think we should call it BBB or B-3) really is better from a quantitative standpoint based on the trade distributions. The new one will also have a high APR than the old one. <GASP> It's true BoWo!! If someone else knows the C3 boards or whever else this guy posts, perhaps you could link them here to this post. People who are looking at his systems should be aware of the issues (and the fact he's nearly mathematically illiterate as evidenced by his posts in this thread.)
