You know differential equations? OMG!!!! Wow. You should brush up on stats and probability theory too... that's kinda useful for those of us who trade... but I guess you don't need that in your job as an RIA?
Probability theory is a subject I did very well in. Since you have no desire to say anything constructive, I would ask that you not post again in this thread, and I won't post again in yours. You're a waste of my time, and obviously have some big head in you that doesn't see that you hire people only to come up with your ideas, as you don't have any of your own.
LOL I did post a lot of constructive information in this thread. I did more than you have done -- posted well conceived, properly tested systems that have performed well with actual trading... and showed a system developed by a trainee that has also done well. Each of these systems has frankly made a lot of money and is actually quite a bit better than your limited BACKTEST. I showed the results from a system derived from the academic literature, and posted the source material in my thread. This could guide other people who want to do things that can't be done in WealthLab. (LOL again) I pointed out errors in your logic and also basic errors in your math. Basic, fundamental errors that no one with a strong foundation and good education would make. Basic. All of this is constructive BoWo... it is your lack of humility and maturity that is the problem. Request DENIED. Have a nice day BoWo.
QLD Projection: 55.0737998543205 QLD Close: 55.7400016784668 QLD Projection: 55.6718176408248 QLD Close: 55.7400016784668 QLD Projection: 55.5558087303525 QLD Close: 55.7400016784668 So, going on the theme of "if I had take the trade at 20.35", this would have exited on the open today at 20.31, which serves to demonstrate that we were not undervalued enough to warrant taking investment action. Cash Cow from Bwolinsky had a trade with the following: 12/16/09 10:15 LONG 483 SDS 35.24 12/16 11:00 35.14 n/a ($48) Well, I can't make it last any longer. The trade was fairly short, only 3 15 minute bars. It was up 0.17% at it's Max Favorable Excursion, and down 0.34% from it's Max Adverse losing 0.23% in the model, and having 1 cent of slippage each way. I am taking the rest of the month off to visit family. I do not anticipate posting that much till I return on the 4th of January. Happy Holidays!
It's always funny to me of a no-name OP starting their own thread and getting PM's thanking them for doing something that they haven't done. Talon is a psychopath, through and through. He hires people to build models for him, and goes around thinking someone who has passed Level I of the CFA Curriculum is illiterate. He is the epitome of pompous, arrogant, Manhattan trash. He thinks heexposed me, and I don't see it. I'm honest about my work, so if that's what he's done, is just show how my work is completed, I guess he has. Beyond that there's nothing he has said that changes how good my research is, and his naievete about pairs trading is very obvious. He still won't ever look up the "Pairs Trading" article in Active Trader Magazine, but you can. That's the shell script, and if he really thinks he exposed my work, he has another thing coming. The mods to that script required end up with strategies like mine, and he's jealous that he can't produce that level of research. He has no software that I don't have. I have excel, python, WLP, STATA, TS when I'm using their platform, and NT. He has nothing edgewise on me, and I know that bothers him. Probably should go back to ignoring him, but anyone reading will know his MO is to scam newbies with no financial or economic knowledge into creating systems. What's even more fraudulent is the claim that he works with them till they can stand on their own two feet. Laughable, at best, unethical at worst. His trainees give him these ideas, with which he posts to forums claiming they're his own. Good riddance to Talon. He's got to get his head straight. He probably is upset about realizing his S&P add delete system is lucky, and that's all.
this thread is a desperate cry for help.....I am not the best pairs trader in the world but was short into this announcement and still am. -119 on the Dow is not 2.5% up Blowinsky...you missed the move by about 360 points, in one day.
As I pm'd, L2, I did not pass. Level II Accounting or FSA did me in. Most others were passable, but without the accounting, it wasn't a passing grade. I did extremely well in Corporate Finance, "Alternative Investments", and, especially, am pretty sure I aced Derivatives, which should come as no surprise to anyone.
Got your PM, I posted the question here before the thread was temporarily locked. BTW, I think you would be better off being less cocky (as in your last sentence, or claiming to be the best pairs trader in the world etc.) It really only harms you. Good luck.
Perhaps. I try to exude confidence whenver possible; maybe it's too much. It's not as over the top as telling someone they need to move. It may put some people off, but I know others feel the same way about their own systems. The difference with all of the posters here is that I do try to put myself out there and be verified by third parties. The main thing that bothers me is posters coming on with claims to great success or great profits or whatever great trading thing they claim without any third party verification. I don't find any other pairs traders from this site putting themselves out there, and I'll try to tone it down a bit.
