  1. I was filled at 43.49 monday on QLD with a model price of 43.55 on PTQQS. We'll see on Thursday if we get any followthrough with today's rally. Basically breakeven currently, but we'll see what happens tomorrow.

  3. So we got the follow through, and, guess what? We're still oversold. I was actually surprised by the reading being up 1.52% on the trade so far and still be oversold, but a lot of it came the first day of the trade on Monday where we opened about 2% lower than we closed at on Friday. There was some volatility, but I've hung in there. I don't see anywhere to go but up a few percent more on the index.

My long term view of the market since March was we'd see 1000 on the S&P and we already have, but I think we'll hover around there, possibly up to 1050 but staying here for at least another month. Another .4% of upside is surely in the cards.

  4. Hi, Topper, I'm guessing you've stayed long. I woke up at 8:30 CST today to see the NDX down a bit off HP's earnings, but we rallied right back from that.

I thought HP's quarter was a blockbuster quarter because they didn't lose that much in revenue. Bit horrendous on the gross margin, but still pretty good. I think the market might be more focused on top line than on earnings.

Yes. 100% long actually with tight stops. I'd like to see the S&P close above 1000 tomorrow and then pull back again. 3 attempts at 1000 and then breakthrough on third is ideally what I'd like to see.

You posted 21 TIMES to an individuals journal in ONE DAY and they post to your journal and you whine to get the posts deleted. No wonder your systems are unprofitable.

  7. Seek help. I have no idea what you're talking about, and I haven't requested anybody's posts be deleted. I have certain individuals on ignore, so maybe the mods are keeping the thread clean for me. Other than that, I don't know what you're referring to. I did notice there was an extra one or two posts that somebody made since I last checked my journal, and I'm betting those were deleted. But I never saw them, or made any request to have them deleted.

  8. Yeah, I'm not sure if I'm a factor in your consideration for what you trade in, but I would agree that ideally the market keeps oscillating between oversold and fair market value for at least two more weeks. That's actually how it went down in my 39% up month in April. I just kept buying dips, and the market kept going higher. There was a two week period where it would go lower than where I sold at and I was making about 5% per trade on those.

  10. I guess I might as well admit it, and the more astute observer would have known this. I did not pass Level II of the CFA Exam. I'm very disappointed, and I felt as prepared as I could be for the exam. I totally bombed it, even though I'd been taking practice exams scoring in the mid 60's.

I do not believe I'll try to take it again, but, who knows, maybe down the road I'll take it sometime when I actually have a job that would require the knowledge.

My boss tells me there's plenty of ways of making money in this world without someone telling you how good you are. I would agree. I think just getting to Level II was an accomplishment, but requires more accounting knowledge than I know at this point. It's quite a bit beyond fifo and lifo accounting, which was emphasized at level I.

I'm sure there'll be those that gloat, but they haven't even taken the exam so I'd only accept criticism from those that have taken it, in which case they're going to be constructive.

On a more positive note, the QLD trade has been a success. Barring some catastrophic collapse over night I fully expect to make a tidy profit for this week. About 4% in one week, but that's not to be expected week in, week out.
