I already posted there. It looks like I've already run up against some headwind. LOL. I might have to start getting agressive with them.
Yup, that's me. I've already gone head to head with the CEO of Optionetics. This guy should be a breeze.
Wayne, Mav, at-el, There is was a chatter going on a yahoo group http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/Option_BWBs_and_Collars/ that suggested that Scott Kramer might even be JL Lord, the mysterious author of the highly priced book(s) on such subjects (see #1317â1326). I read along that group â as I was fascinated by what I perceived as an utter cult-like attitude by some of the posters who were working very hard to reason for themselves the hard cash money they paidâwhile trying to decipher some of the âdivineâ massages/clues/strategies/methods--whatever-- in âThe Bookâ. Talk about group 'thing'âwell it was fun reading while it lastedâI think it is now defunct. Ben
Man, it's getting nasty at Kramer's optionetics board! Even Alex Mendoza is chipping in and throwing out challenges. They just won't admit that collars are the same as verticals and are now issuing a $5000 challenge. This is a great way to end the year, fireworks and all! daddy's boy
I am not so sure they are arguing that collars and verticals are NOT synthetic. They seem to be making a point that in practice you handle the collar differently. Kind of like the way you would handle a naked put differently than a covered call (one has less margin initially and one less transaction and such...) I never was a fan of Optionetics but the guys there were pretty nice when I met them in person (Trader's Expo and such). However on that thread Mav has them ranting like bad ETers LOL..... THis should be fun..
I've read the Optionetics board and read Fontanils' books (I've studied options for about 7 years), and while that whole group of "educators" may not be quite the snake-oilers of others, they are heavily involved in selling the clueless and newbs "the dream". Just put on a few spreads and this and that and...bada bing - financial independence. All through the "magic" and "mysterious" world of options! Just like those "You can be rich buy/selling real estate", "Your own Internet kiosk", "ATM machines", "Stuffing envelopes", "Put your name at the bottom and send $5 to each of the top names", "Help me move my $3.4 million out of Nigeria", ... It ain't that easy. And $3,000 (or whatever) seminars are not better than a $30 book.
