Maverick, thank you for the greeting. I'm afraid to reciprocate with similar words. lol I'm here under a new screen name. This way if anyone gives me a hard time I can merely truncate the name to: 4Q.
4Q Daddy's Boy. lol Actually, about 99% of the people on these boards have a sense of humor. But, it's the other 1% that can cause big problems.
The book proposes to look at the strikes and select the BWB based on what would happen if a move happened in the index immediately. The ideal BWB is one that makes money immediately when the index falls....these are hard to find mind you. In theory this may sound ok but in reality is this going to improve the risk reward on a BWB.
Really? I find that hard to believe, considering the outstanding quality of his posts. I thought he was starting a hedge fund and had to close down his journals because it would be inappropriate to have a fund of his own and then talk his book here. Then again, I'm just speculating.
Regarding these Peter Achs collars: It has been claimed that he turned 30k into 1.4 mil in 3 years trading collars on BBY. I can't find any verification of this. Is this substantiated somewhere with trading records, or is this something that can be regarded as apocryphal? Just wondering Cheers
but DV...rolling is really works ( wink wink) and its easy ! I heard one ex rodeo clown made mooollions by dynamically hedging collars. He is running a Dear Abby style column on one of the option's sites. Still very much in touch with his old profession ; posting funny pictures and staff. It's fun !
One of my favorite strategies, as I expressed often on the "Other Site" Boards is the combination of shorting the stock, buying calls, and occasionally selling puts. I have had little or no success generating any kind of discussion on this. The other night on that Board, amidst all of the arguing, Maverick 74 and I were just starting to have a good discussion of the subject when they pulled the plug on him. Hopefully, that could be continued here. No, I have not made "mooolions" doing this; however, I have had consistent success, albeit modestly. 4Q (I love that abbreviation.)
