Following the link in this thread, I read the thread on optionetics
board. I have noticed that some of their students have been there for more than fives and had posted 3000+ times there. Yet
it was after the fight that they realized those synthetic relationship. I really doubt the effectiveness of those expensive seminars.

  2. Yeah, the whole idea of a $2995 seminar to learn option strategies is just galling.

The phrase "sucker born every minute" comes to mind. Sure, if you go to the seminars you will learn about options.

But for gosh sakes just go to Amazon and type in "Options Books". Or go to the library or B&N and sip some coffee and read a few for FREE. And the CBOE has a lot of basic info for ... yep, free.

What's been "new" in option theory in 20 years? Not very freakin much...

And, like every other BIG SECRET FINANCIAL WONDER METHOD being sold, option strategies are no automatic road to riches.

It it were, why would you have so darn many option "experts" padding their income with "training", instead of trading the hell out of these wonderful methods and making Warren B look like a pauper? :D

What really frightened me is the folks over at Optionetics pushed Advanced Get on their "newbies",and that must have been a 2000-4000 dollar investment. If that wasnt bad enough, they dropped Get,and are now reccomending their own Elliot Wave voodoo machine for a mere $4000 dollars...

    Happy New Year to All

  4. Mav, what a shame that you allowed this guy Steve to push you over the edge. You were holding your own and doing great when going head to head with Mendoza. I got the impression that even though he was arguing with you he actually agreed with you. You didn't win the argument with Scott because he was not arguing. He was just insulting like he does all the time.

  5. Sometimes things backfire.
    This from the optionetics board:

Btw Richard, this was a great discussion but there was no need to delete all of chicago trader's posts - YOU COULD HAVE LEFT THE ONES THAT HAD NO FOUL LANGUAGE ATTACHED (the same as scott's post with the "have a cup of shut ... up"). All you have done is remove good educational content from this site and reinforce the opinion others hold that optionetics is censoring material that it doesn't agree with.
I'm a paying optionetics customer and have been for many years and was a huge fan (until now) of the optionetics program. I have also praised and recommended optionetics to many people over the years. This behaviour of yours has now changed my outlook totally and I will no longer recommend optionetics as a place where one can learn and exchange ideas freely - it's a place where one can learn only one thing, strategies endorsed by optionetics and it's staff/writers, all else gets ridiculed and/or deleted. I'm bitterly disappointed in your action and it pains me to have to end the year on this note."
Ah well, there goes an ex customer :).

  6. Hi Bob,

No impression about it, Alex did agree with Mav for the most part and said so a couple of times. Also agree that it is a shame Mav let himself be pushed over the edge by Steve - whose posts are sometimes wanting due to a language issue I believe (perhaps not a native English speaker). He can be easy to take too seriously & I honestly don't think he means half of the offense he causes you! LOL.

Mav, seriously, you lost it over nothing & with the others you were giving as good as you got from the outset. Now what was a good discussion is decimated - temper temper.

To the person suggesting that no-one at optionetics had ever thought about synthetics before, let alone discussed them - ROFLMAO. You've only got a couple of years of catch up reading to do before you'll know you've never been more wrong in your life. Mav came over & resurrected a thread that had died b/c this topic has been done to death & the expectation over there is that a person with a question on a popular topic should go read the archives thoroughly so that the same questions don't have to be answered over and over and over and over by the people GIVING their time (none of the writers/instructors are paid for the time they give to the boards, just like here).

Until you have the whole picture of what has gone & is going on - not just this snap shot - don't cast aspersions about people. Read the background and then join in, otherwise all you are guilty of is chinese whispers like ET buddy WayneL.

    Hi mumtrader,

Nice of you to visit. :p

Do you realise you continuously hoist yourself by your own petard over there? It's comical lol.

Your head is so far up S's backside you don't see the fool you make of yourself.

When you know something, come back to ASF and debate me on something. it would be fun.

    Cheers

  10. Hey wayneL
What anti ad hominem said is easily verifiable. I don't know what your beef is with optionetics. So why not be a good little chap and stop posting your onesided biased garbage? I'm getting a little tired of it.
What a way to start the new year, geez.

P.S. does anyone know what waynel's 'asf' stands for and who is 'mumtrader'?
