Buttigieg 2020

  1. Not to put too fine a point on this this early in the 2024 race, but Biden's/DNC's current plan to move South Carolina/Georgia etc up front in the primary schedule is really designed to give Biden the edge and to put the screws early on to Whitey Tighty candidates like Newsom and BootyBoy and Bernie. That means that any dem who wants a shot at it needs to go after Biden/Kamala hard right up front, right at the very onset. Versus last time where everyone played the game of trying to ding Joe and get him to go away gracefully and not go full frontal assault until they had too. Nope. You gotta damage him up front in his hand-picked high delegate states or he will be a pisser to get rid of.

Buttigieg in SC and Georgia getting out the black vote. heh. OR NOT. Ditto for Newsom the white metrosexual from California.

Just watch the MSM...NYT, WaPo, CNN. If you start to see negative opinion pieces, not necessarily directed at Biden/Cakle, but more along the lines, "too old", "we need new blood", "it's time for a new generation", etc.. by higher up Dems, then you know the long knives are out. It really comes down to who the big donors like, and I can't imagine that they like Biden for a 2nd term all that much.

  3. This is the real issue for any Dem candidate. First you have to assume they can overcome the bias DNC will build against them if not.a chosen candidate. DNC technically has.not yet decided if they want to.go with Biden again.

Second if they truly feel a Biden/Harris re election bid will fail then a changed up primary schedule will.force them to go scorched earth much much sooner. Not only do they have to attack him but they will have to shit on his 4 years in office as well which really makes the Dems look bad. NewsButtiBernie saying Biden needs to be replaced as he can no.longer lead but last 4 years were great is a shitty argument.

Third, Dem challengers will make all the arguments the GOP.will simply echo later on in effect handing them a playbook.

If Dems want to use their amazing record the past 4 years in 2024 they cant then claim their leader needs to be replaced. The only way this can work is Biden announces he will not run and Kamala has to say the same. Then NewsButtiSanders can praise Joe.and his record without destroying him or the party. It is still weak but the only path to avoid a primary bloodbath.

Next year DNC has to get together in their smoke.filled basement snd figure out how to convince Joe and Cackles to.step.aside so they can finish their job while the "replacements" step up. Right now the current bench is horrible.

If 2024 becomes Newsome v. DeSantis then it is basically Biden Jr. v. Trump Jr. .... not excited about those choices.

You guys are overthinking this and looking for a bogeyman.

In the democrat primary for president black women choose the nominee because they have a disproportionate representation in democrat registrations and participation over all other groups. By and large, black voters in general push their influence to a greater extent in the dem primary. The same can be said for white males in the Republican primary.

Putting Iowa and New Hampshire first draws out the primary process for democrats. There is a good argument against South Carolina going first but there is also a good argument for it going first too.

Personally, I actually think New Jersey should go first in the dem primary because the demographics are ideal for a democratic primary. The problem with NJ is the television market is so expensive.

  5. I think Iowa and NH are.so.tiny that.coming in first or 3rd there is meaningless really and that power those.2.states should be taken away. The fact that candidates have to spend months kissing the ass of a non diverse insignificantly small.population for a national election where those states EC votes matter.little is crazy.

I.say overlap more.states like.Super Tuesday and.move them closer together so multiple.states matter together.and shorten the bullshit time...

Democrats should also fix their delegate system too and take a page from the Republican primary process.

Republicans move to winner take all delegates by Super Tuesday whereas democrats continue proportional delegates. It makes the democrat primary seem closer than it really is and allows for people like Bernie Sanders to go into the convention seemingly like he has a chance at getting the nomination.

  7. Here's a question for ya. Not loaded just looking for the answer.

Can the DNC alone decide whether there will even be a primary election process with challengers? Say, for example, they decide Biden or the use of Biden as a cardboard cut-out with handlers pulling the strings is working fine, and by default he is the dems choice so no primary elections.

I know the Republicans can/have. For example when Trump was the sitting president, the RNC simply decided there would be no Republican primary. I think that is how it worked.

Primary and party decision politics get pretty muddy sometimes. There are rules and then they just make sh#t up as they go along too. Lisa Murkowski ran and was elected as a republican in this last race -EXCEPT- the Alaska Republican party nominate Kelly Tishibada as the republican candidate. WUT? The parties have no control over their brand.
